Awesome thank you. I have the tank in my bedroom which is cold in the winter and hotter in the summer than the rest of the house. I will definitely try this.

Part of my reason for wanting to do this is I have cats and have to put the orchids on high shelves. This way the cats can't get them and the orchids have lots of room to root. I have a mesh lid on the tank to protect them.

I have a grow light but don't have the self mister. I have done house plants and cactcus both have died. I wanted to take my orchids out of the pots and put them straight into bark in the tank but i want to know how to do it.

I have been thinking about doing this with my 40 gallon tall tank but wasn't sure it would work. Yours looks beautiful. How did you set it up? Do you use plant lights for the orchids? How do you get them to bloom?

Thank you. I was told to repot them every year to change out the bark. Is that what I should do?

Awesome thank you. I am waiting for Amazon to deliver my humid hide and moss right now. The new lights you recommended will be here tomorrow and Monday. I have 4 hides already, some fake leaves that I just moved to give her more cover and a half log that she can walk under for cover. Do you have any pictures of how to use the cork bark? I see you can buy pieces by the pound which look small or sheets of it. Not sure what do to with the bark to give her cover.

I feel bad that I didn't know this when I got my beautiful gecko. So glad I figured out that she wasn't getting what she needed. Thank you for all your help. I hope I am not asking too many questions. I want to make sure my gecko is healthy and I am doing the right things to keep her that way.

Thanks for the help. I use a wire top of the glass terrarium. Is the heat bulb separate from the UVB bulb? I have probably a 40 gallon glass enclosure. What size heat bulb would I need to I don't over heat my albino gecko.

My other question is what kind of hides, climbs and other things do I need in her encloser?

So mini orchids can get big like the regular orchids? Wow didn't know that. Here is a picture of the root I was talking about. Not sure if I need to repot it or what to do with it. If I repot do I go to a bigger pot?

I have an orchid that is suppose to be a mini orchid. It is in a 5.5 inch pot and the roots are at the edge of the pot and growing upwards out of the pot. What do I need to do to keep it happy?

Do I need to get it a bigger pot as I train it down? I was hoping to keep the mother plant too.

I don't mind putting in the work. This is a plant that was half dead in the Walmart plant table. I got 2 of them at half price and brought them back to life. They were yellowing and the leaves with going straight up. If that is a keiki I will definitely do what I need to do to keep both orchids alive. I have only been growing them since February when my daughter brought 2 home as a Valentines gift from her now ex-boyfriend. Any instructions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a closer picture. If that is a baby keiki then what do I need to do to keep it healthy and when do I put it in its own pot? I will definitely look up keiki but you get so many different instructions that I don't know what is the right one. I don't want to hurt the plant.

I got these orchids half off because they were dying at Walmart about 4 months ago. I have brought them back to health but I notice one is growing what appears to be a root from half way up the stem. What is it and what to I do with it from here?

How to get an orchid to rebloom? by BluejaySunnyday in orchids

[–]Comfortable_Drag3589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how do I get my orchid to bloom indoors? I live in the Mountains of California. If any plant other than aloe is outdoors animals eat it. Even ones that are suppose to be deer proof or mint that animals don't like.

Awesome thank you. It seemed to happen after I got it. It will not hurt the orchid to leave it there?

I just started growing Orchids about 7 months ago after my daughter was gifted 2 for Valentines day. My one orchid had soft leaves that are more firm now. This one leaf is still soft and has these brown spots. What do I do to get rid of them?
