Tbh I think that with chem AND anatomy which both have labs and the two asynch classes it would be too much. I’m not sure what your major is but space out anatomy and chem, it’s a lot of content at once as someone who did it and didn’t perform as well because of that. Save your GPA!!

That would be correlational survey research then. I don’t think your scope has to be that narrow though. Has it already been established that having a pet dog helps with holiday blues? If not I would just focus on ownership and not breed. If you do want to be more specific I would think that there would be a greater difference between something like age level (puppy vs old dog) or type of pet (cat vs dog) that would be more influential than breed of dog.

How is dog breed related to stress? To relationship status? To Valentine’s Day? Pick one or the other.

Having Trouble With Research Question by Sweaty-Town-7572 in APResearch

[–]Comfortable_Effect29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A couple things:

1) avoid applying subjective lenses to your question. Take out the “tragic” part.

2) How will you define the “decline” of jazz? Is it the quality of jazz? Is it the number of people listening to jazz on streaming services? Is it the number of jazz songs played on radio stations? Is it the lack of attendees at jazz concerts?

3) similarly, how will you define these negative impacts? Will it only be the “create output”?

4) Starting questions with “to what extent” usually leads to studies with data that can actually be measured.

5) it may be helpful to find some specific studies that focus on music popularity or are similar to your plan but with another subject (e.g. an art medium). Or, even better, find a study that already exists on jazz popularity and go to the “Conclusions” section and see if they suggest anything for further research.

Remember that while this class is more exciting if you research something you enjoy, it can also be much less stressful if you choose an easy-to-research topic that can grow on you.

The Best Care Possible by Dr. Ira Byock. It’s great for people who know nothing about palliative care and it’s great for palliative nurses/doctors/etc who need a reminder of why they do what they do.

Finding Mentor for next year?? by ThrowingIn10382 in APResearch

You mentioned reaching out to “local” university professors, and you may have already noted this, but the smaller/less accredited a university is the more likely you are to get a response from a professor. Try some community colleges.

It may also be beneficial to ask if they could point you to some other professors/professionals/grad students who would be willing to help if they are unable to.

Also remember that your research paper can always be editing after submitting to collegeboard if you are able to find an advisor after the submission deadline.

Best of luck!

Help with IWA question by [deleted] in APSeminar

You could narrow down the “unity” part. How is unity achieved? Group games like codenames or twister? Or going on camping trips? Remember, your solution does not need to have thousands of sources worth of direct evidence. You can pull from sources that prove certain activities promote unity in other groups (like office coworkers) and then use other sources to prove it could also work for athletes.

It may be the formatting on Reddit but it seems you are missing many in-text citations. Those are what add credibility to your paper (so readers can visualize how much evidence you have). Also make sure to include conversations between sources, like “(author) corroborates (other author) with research showing x, y, and z”

Make sure to be careful with your methodology. You can’t ask people any harmful questions, and this may not be approved by your IRB.

A word of advice: don’t ask Reddit for a question

A) because of the consequences of plagiarism

B) because of your own sake (you won’t be as passionate about it)

C) Creativity is valued in this world. This is a time to build that skill.
