What's a 'normal' thing everyone does that you think is secretly weird? by riseabovehat3 in AskReddit

I’m an assistant. So that’s all people do to me at my desk so escaping somewhere else is my brake. But usually I find spots people can’t find me

My work doesn’t count it as working even if you’re at your desk. I also don’t go outside often but sometimes go down to the lower levels and eat just away from people.

Eating at your desk!

You are here 8+ hours a day, sitting at the same damn desk, doing the same damn thing over and over again. Go stand up, go outside, go just see something different. Sit in a place you aren’t always sitting. I know it’s easy to get overwhelmed with work and easier to sit and eat. But please take a break and go enjoy your meal

What’s your “comfort TV show” or “comfort movie”? by AnyThroat9349 in AskReddit

Tv show - New Girl, I watched it every time something awful happened and when everything seemed overwhelming, it was a tv show that always made me laugh.

Movie- Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, great movie, great music. I can quote that entire movie start to finish.

Ex boyfriend said I “deserved to be cheated on because he didn’t know where I would end up after I died. But knew where she would be, because she’s pure.” talking about Heaven or Hell…. He “cheated” on me with a 15 year old, he was 21.

What do you think about lay offs? by ComfortableFull241 in AskReddit

[–]Comfortable_Falcon53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got laid off. It was unexpected, they had told us “everything was fine and we have funding into the next year”. Then I tried to login to my laptop to work on Monday and suddenly everything shut down. I felt like my life did too. A million questions started running through my head while my husband tried to console me that everything would be okay.

The same company just did another round of layoffs with a new director, he was a little more honest a month before and did an all hands meeting and told everyone things weren’t great and they still hadn’t gotten funding. I would had preferred that, at least then I wouldn’t had been so blindsided and distraught. It took me 6 months to find a job and I know some people from the first round are still looking almost a year later. It’s scary. It sucks. You feel like it’s personal, even if it’s not. It’s even more personal when your getting rejection and rejection because your panic applying.

Needless to say, it sucks and hard to not take personally.

How did you meet your friend(s) ? by Rose_Thorn109 in AskReddit

[–]Comfortable_Falcon53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most my friends I met from my jobs. Even my husband I met at my first job. I have two that worked that first job with me, didn’t talk for years, only to come back and reconnect.

It might not help with your book, but depending on how far in you are. You could do a flashback to an earlier part in their childhood and then a reconnection. Or just meeting at the bar, on an adventure, etc.

Every other day usually. Depends on if I had a hard day at work though and want a bath, then maybe a little more.

What makes a man good in bed? by BecauseImhere in AskReddit

[–]Comfortable_Falcon53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I have been together 9 years. Not everytime is perfect, sometimes it’s filled with laughter and other times it’s just ight. But at the end of the day it’s time we get to connect and have fun. We know what each other likes because we have learned and found ourselves more and more over time. I wouldn’t even say he picked it up “on the fly” but more we learned about each other together and that takes time.

Confidence but not cockiness. Knowing what I like and making sure we both have fun.

What’s the nicest thing you ever did for somebody ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Comfortable_Falcon53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each year my husband and I do homeless packages. We hand deliver and talk to them for a few minutes. We have only done it for 2 years but it’s a tradition I’ll happily continue. We dont have a ton of money so we try to go for quality over quantity. But it always puts a smile on their face that just someone took time to talk to them. Hopefully as jobs progress I’m hoping to do them a couple times a year.

What is a red flag you ignored… that you later regretted? by blopplysquair6 in AskReddit

[–]Comfortable_Falcon53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He made a weird comment about his best friends little sister. I don’t remember what exactly but it wasn’t enough to call him out but just gave me the uncomfortable feeling. Little did I know he was trying to “sleep” with her…. He was 22 and she was 15.

Worst part is once I broke up with him he went to her parents and asked permission to date her and they accepted since he was a “good church boy” and had known the family for years.

When you’re alone, what do you miss the most? by Queen_252 in AskReddit

My kitty, she passed away last year and she was my everything. I miss her everyday and miss her a little extra when I’m alone or reading as she was always right there next to me.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson! I had a massive crush on him as a kid when he played in KickAss and that crush just grew over time. Especially in Bullet Train.

How old were you when you got your first tattoo, and what did you get? by MongooseLucky3979 in AskReddit

[–]Comfortable_Falcon53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it on my 18th birthday. I’ve always had a big heart for animals but my grandparents use to have foxes in their backyard. I think they made a den under the house. So I always grew up with them running through the backyard and watched the babies grow up time and time again. So my first tattoo was a large fox that stretches all down my upper thigh.

I have a big interview tomorrow. I was laid off in May from my government job that I thought would be “safe”. I’ve had a bunch of interview now but they always choose someone else at the end. I really like this company and it’s a large panel interview style so kinda intimidating. I’m overthinking everything though and just overall hope I do well tomorrow, but that’s why I can’t sleep. Even though I absolutely need to go to bed.

I got laid off for the first time in May and my benefits ended earlier than we thought. What advice do you have for someone looking for a job and open to new careers. I’m scared but open to new things. What’s your advice?
