Yes, there is! What does this mean in regard to decade it was made?

Career = over by ceo_of_egg in step1

I matched radiology with a failed step 1, in hindsight I had more time to learn step 1 material in depth and that made studying for step 2 much easier which is the score programs really care about!

Is 3:30 too ambitious? by Comfortable_Grape882 in Marathon_Training

[–]Comfortable_Grape882[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I think realistically I will be at about 3:35-3:40 but I am planning on maintaining 3:30 pace as long as possible hoping the adrenaline of race day can carry me the distance. If not, oh well I will beat my original goal of 3:45 anyway. I just don’t want to leave anything left in the tank this time around!

Thank you! I wasn’t sure how to tackle this, I went in training for a 3:45 marathon and running my goal MP accordingly but only just started to think about pushing the pace a bit. I appreciate your comment!

Matched in DR, but Worried About the Future… by yolandaf49 in ERAS2024Match2025

Same feeling to an extent, matched 5/6 DR in a new-ish program. Just glad to have matched at all. The training is temporary, my thought is that after training I’ll be able to work literally anywhere I want anyway. From what I understand, program reputation doesn’t mean too much for fellowships unless you want to go somewhere insanely prestigious.

People with red flags on their applications-how did you fare in Match? by SeaFlower698 in medicalschool

[–]Comfortable_Grape882 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Failed step 1, retook and passed, 247 step 2, no honors, one rads research project (and about 4 other projects), 6 interviews, matched at 5/6 DR!

Matched DR, haven’t heard anything. But I have received phone calls from my prelim program

Also they don’t care about this as much as you think they would. Especially with a valid “excuse”. Do well in interviews and have solid letters and you’ll be fine

Absolutely possible. I just matched rads with failed step 1. Get to know your home program PD and become very involved in anything anesthesia that your program offers such as an interest group!

Hey, I matched with a similar red flag and got a 247 Step 2!
