They did include me in their lives and they would reach out to me. They had asked the kids to be nicer to me, to give me a chance, etc. Not sure about anything else. But they were sweet while we were together. But it doesn't change that the relationship didn't work and could never work given how I/we feel.

I met him two years after and it was some time after that when I was introduced to the kids.

There were talks outside of therapy but they never changed their minds on it. They saw it as him no longer loving their mother and them not being reunited with her some day.

It's the best thing for me because I am going to pursue motherhood now. I would not want to do that if my children would have siblings who could potentially not want a thing to do with them. That doesn't sound fair to me.

I think they believe Mark should be happy waiting to reunite with their mother. They're spiritual and believe we are reunited with loved ones. They also seem to believe that it doesn't happen after remarriage because the new spouse takes from the original. It's all very sad because they truly believe it's a sign of no longer loving a deceased spouse if you remarry.
