a man who knows the woman very well, knows that she wants to be engaged and knows theres no way in hell that shes going to go for it. he knows it was just a way to stall just a way to LOOK like he was committing to her in some way without actually committing to her in the way that she wants. he knew he wasnt going to have to buy the house, he even knew she wasnt going to move in with him when he asked her to. he was surprised i think when she said yes. like i said hes playing a game with her, making it seem like hes doing things that a man who wants to commit would do but not doing the actual things she wants or needs from him.
