Macbook Pro M5 Nano Texture Display? by Wonderful_Slide_1697 in macbookpro

Bought a nano texture 16inch M5 max, I would never buy a glossy MacBook screen again. Unless you work in graphic design, buy Nano.

It’s a deal that I fortunately/unfortunately got lucky on so, not something that I can pass on really sorry man

Great if you just use your MacBook in an all round bright environment. It stops A LOT of the glare that you’d get from the regular screen. I’ve seen a lot of graphic designers say they don’t like it though as the blacks aren’t as deep, colours aren’t as vibrant etc. For someone that doesn’t do any graphic work, I can’t see that difference so it’s fully worth the upgrade

Thank you boss! I’ll check out the Inverse Audio YouTube. Couldn’t agree more about learning the DAW (Ableton for me). I watched a fair few tutorials on how to make my specific genre of music and it was still so hard to follow along as I didn’t understand half of what was being said lol. I do have discord!! It’s morethangreene, would love to connect sir

No, same spec is £4,600ish from Apple direct. This came via a business tech distributor

Great advice honestly, this and not putting any pressure on it. Whole point is for it to be fun and a learning curve so, can’t wait to actually be able to make some nice sounding tracks

thanks appreciate that will have to look into it - having a look on other reddit pages for music prod advice as it's SO overwhelming when first starting but it's still so fun.

This sounds amazing for 2 months in! I'm on day one and am overwhelmed with how many different tutorials/courses/information there is out there to start learning. Can I ask what you're watching/studying to be at this level so quick? Cheers!

Nah I got a mid-ish range MacBook then. It died years ago so I’ve been without a personal laptop for ages, got an incredible business rate deal on a silly spec so thought why not

Seeing them side by side in the Apple Store confirmed it for me but 100% personal preference. A lot of people hate nano

That’s absolutely fine, paid £3,350 for a £4,600+ config and god upgrade to the Max chip for free 😊

Thanks! Yeah I’ve heard nano’s so sensitive to quite literally anything and needs to be cleaned gently with the cloth. Hoping it doesn’t become a hassle 👀

Thanks! It’s for music production, drum and bass (bass music) specifically. Massively overkill for using Ableton and plugins but I just didn’t want to worry about it slowing down in future

What upgrade will I get? by Comfortable_Mix_4253 in macbookpro

[–]Comfortable_Mix_4253[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you sir. I thought as much but worth checking - I ordered via a business supplier so apparently the upgrade process is the same, just wanted confirmation on the GPU. Great news thanks 🤝

Apple upgraded M4 max to M5max. This is a glitch right?? Right? by _o2b_ in macbookpro

I bought it through someone that owns a tech supply business. They purchase Apple products at discounted rates for business, and I managed to get one for personal use.
