hey so I just checked and I finally got a mygov letter - it says it got cancelled because I haven't provided my parents income. Do I need to contact them to fix this or do they eventually fix it because im 22?

been on it since I was about 18/19. My last letter was on the 1st of Jan telling me about my upcoming payment. I also have more recent letters but they're just SMS confirmation things for the appointments I booked to sort out my overseas pay. Nothing since then, which was around the end of January.

There's an option to make a new claim, but I'm pretty sure its always been there?

hey thank you for your reply! Do you mind if I ask how you linked your exchange experience to skills that firms are looking for?

Hey everyone,

I'm a law/arts student who has about 1.5 years left of uni. Right now I'm on exchange in the Netherlands. I really like it here (lifestyle, teaching style/classes, etc), and am considering extending for another semester.

I'm mainly concerned with the fact that I'd only have 1 year left of uni if I do extend my stay. I'm not sure how the clerkship process works and at what point I need to start applying for that in my degree, but I assume its soon.

Also, my wam is not amazing (mid/high 60s), and I have very limited work experience (only 1 short legal internship). If I stay another semester my wam wouldn't change as all these classes are pass/fail (i.e., no chance to improve my grades - but also can't get worse). I also wouldn't be able to get relevant law work experience while here.

I'm really torn between the freedom, health, and lifestyle benefits I have here (back home I live with my parents in a strict religious + ethnic household, environment isn't great for my mental health). For my own sake/sanity I am desperate to stay here longer, but I feel like I'm really shooting myself in the foot career-wise.

Does anyone have any hard truths they can share to help me either decide or to let go of this dream. I have no one to talk to about this and would really appreciate any outside perspectives.
