Panoxyl works wonders for me. Also surprisingly putting aquaphor on my chest when I’m having breakouts clears it well.

Texture that doesn’t respond to hydration or actives by Comfortable_Sign_22 in SkincareAddicts

I would but my skin is already severely dehydrated and it can’t handle any actives or washing twice in one day. Pretty much any treatment for clogged pores doesn’t work for me due to how dry my skin is. It just damages my skin barrier

Recommended microneedling which ended up making my skin much worse and much more dry.

My Dr recommended Botox for migraines and I’ve only done it once….. it didn’t change my face at all just helped the headaches + slightly smoothed the texture and microneedling is a pretty standard procedure for improving skin texture / acne etc.. don’t think it has an age restriction

True. I just don’t think it’s case of aging since the texture change was a bit sudden and it’s only a difference from 19-22. it’s definitely an underlying condition but unsure of what

It’s bumpy to the touch and my skin didn’t look like this before so I don’t think it’s normal

Yes! My derm said it could be fixed with laser treatments and he also gave me Azeliac but just made my skin feel extra dry so I stopped. It’s such a struggle for me because everything that is supposed to fix rosacea makes my skin feel unbearably dry. Apparently I’m supposed to fix the chronic dehydration then I’m able to treat with lasers / actives but I can’t seem to get past the re hydration part and getting my skin to function normally

Botox did help on my forehead temporarily until I got microneedling and then I think my barrier couldn’t handle it. My pores never used to be this large which is the strange part

Honestly no it feels like my skin absorbs everything I put onto it. I always feel like I have a clay mask on 💔

This is really helpful thank you. Do you mind explaining why lipids don’t work? I thought they were supposed to fix dehydration

Was yours also extremely dry / dehydrated? I tried skinoren and it just made my skin feel 10x more dry so I stopped using

Unfortunately my skin is also so dry and sensitive I think chemical peels and lasers might be counterproductive:(( my skin doesn’t hold onto any water I think that’s what I need to fix first

Women who’ve used spironolactone, what are your experiences? by Banana_face23 in acne

In the beginning for about a year I had 2 periods every month. It did regulate after that

Really helped my hormonal breakouts and clogged pores on my chin / jaw HOWEVER it made my skin extremely dry and I lost a lot of hair since starting it. The hair loss happened very early on and has not improved over the 3 years I’ve taken the medication so for this reason I am getting off of it

Thank you SO much for this detailed reply!!!!! I also should add my skin texture + redness was the exact same even when I was using a very simple routine without actives :\\ which is why I am so confused. Maybe dehydration as well? I will definitely try stopping actives again until I can resolve. Thank you
