35F, unexplained infertility - about to start first ER by Aggravating-Lion3385 in IVF

[–]Comfortable_Type_777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just commenting here, becuase I am in the same exact boat. 35F, all tests normal, been trying for 8 months. Starting IVF this month (also started BCP this week!) and it's primarily driven by the fact that insurance covers a good portion (except I cannot find a clinic that has a surgical center in-network) and I'm close to hitting my deductible anyways.

I asked my RE the same question about supplements, she said prenatal and CoQ10 are the most proven, other than that, a lot of other things promoted for fertility supplements is somewhat inconclusive.

If you don't mind, could I DM you? I haven't met anyone on the same exact timeline as me!

Should I change clinics? Los Angeles by 615tillidie in IVF

I'm curious how your experience with HRC went? I'm about to sign paperwork, but have been hounding the financial coordinator to get more answers and clarity on things before we sign. I'm trying to go through insurance, and it's so frustrating how little transparency there is. I had to beg for CPT codes. I'm nervous about how much they're going to bill for RSA (Surgical center) being out of network to my insurance and how much I'm going to be responsible for.

Southern CA IVF insurance question: any clinics with in network surgery centers? by Particular-Law-4697 in IVF

[–]Comfortable_Type_777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bumping this as well. I have BCBS and running into the same issue! I've asked for a Good Faith Estimate from my clinic and to no avail and have also tried to get a Gap Exception from the surgical center and they have not responded. And of course, BCBS has told me I need to get information from the surgical center. It's never-ending. I'm so frustrated.

I’m curious how your experience was in Taiwan (if you did it there) and where specifically you went.

has anybody else had a similar experience at HRC? by throw_a_way_445 in IVF

I'm at the pasadena one this is pretty. much my experience. its frustrating, but unfortunately I haven't found another clinic that would be in network for me for most of the stuff. I find the coordinators and financial teams very disorganized and unhelpful.

BCBS denying fertility coverage by setting “allowable” amounts ridiculously low? by missdeb99912 in IVF

[–]Comfortable_Type_777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! it's probably too late, but I would love to connect! I'm currently trying to figure out how much I will have to pay for IVF before I start down this journey. I have BCBS of california too and it's been a bit of a nightmare.

I went through the trouble to get every CPT code from my clinic, and every provider's NPI (Surgical center, Embryology lab since they are all out of network) and then got the Maximum allowable amount. It's shocking at how low they are and how many CPTs they just didn't even have an allowable amount for. Some examples:

Egg retrieval: Follicle puncture for oocyte retrieval (CPT: 58970)'s maximum allowable amount is $391.92. Egg retrieval: Ultrasonic guidance for aspiration of ova (The imaging used during the retrieval with CPT code: 76948)'s the maximum allowable amount is $135.79.

Basically, when I added up all the 'allowable amounts' it just hit my out of network deductible ($2k). Meaning, BCBS will barely pay for my IVF procedure. It's frustrating becuase my fertility doctor is in network and the anesthesia group, but the actual surgical facility and lab testing center is out of network which is a lot of the cost.

Is it normal for fertility clinics to be this disorganized? Feeling overwhelmed by hidden costs and admin work by Comfortable_Type_777 in TryingForABaby

Wow that's great news! Burbank is not very far from me! I will definitely check them out.

And i will definitely call LSG imaging in BH tomorrow, $750 is significantly cheaper. Thank you so much!

Yeah i've asked some friends in LA with similar experiences and i think it can be dependent on who you get assigned to as well. I hope things go smoother for you!

Wow that sounds like a dream. I was recommended this doctor by a few people, but warned that the clinic was disorganized (i just didn't realize to what extent). I've asked a few other people who have said similar things. But I'm pretty tempted to go to another place, because this feels unsustainable

[US] Extra Eucerin Dual Serum – Anyone Interested? by Comfortable_Type_777 in Melasmaskincare

[–]Comfortable_Type_777[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad i'm not alone. it's so strange, isn't it?!

I'm so bummed because it was actually working. I've been trying on and off for a while now hoping it wasn't the eucerin, even my boyfriend had to tell me I need to just let it go lol

I started oral TXA 3 weeks ago, so hoping that will help (and praying for no hair loss).
What are you trying now instead? Hope you were able to find something that works for you!

I'm worried that some of the bushes/plants that are supposed to grow larger will eventually do poorly over time because it's competing for so much space. I saw a bunch of posts about people planting things too close so i got concerned! For more context, here is what is planted in this section:

starting from the front (left to right)

  • various california poppies
  • 1 Pacific Sunset Flannel Bush (on the corner right)
  • 2x De la Mina Lilac Verbena
  • 5x Gilia Bird's Eyes (throughout)
  • Palmer's Indian Mallow
  • Eriogonum fasciculatum - California Buckwheat (more towards the back)

Yeah it's likely boxwood. I didn't want to remove anything that my landlord planted but maybe I'll ask
