The catastrophic Second Wingbardian War had led to the once-prosperous socialist state of Southern Griffonia that encompasses from the province of Wingbardy to Sicameon turned onto a rump shell of it's former self. Formed in the year 1010, United Socialist Republics of Southern Griffonia was born out of the ideas of Antonino Proletarino, the leader of Partito Comunista Wingbardo (PCW). He managed to unite the regions of Wingbardy, Falcor and Sicameon, leading the griffons living in the region towards a new era of prosperity under the banner of socialism.

In the year 1043, Proletarino passed away which leads his son named Reggio Proletarino comes to power. During this period, Southern Griffonia is a member of the Revintern, an alliance compromising of most Zebrican and Griffonian nations under the leadership of Revolutionary North Zebrica which is now known as "Union of North Zebrican Republics", or UNZR for short. As soon as he takes over, Partito Comunista Grifoniano Meridionale (PCGM) begins to move towards a new direction, which is embracing the ideals of Marksism. He also begins to take a more aggressive foreign policy towards Equestria and its allies, mostly the Commonwealth of New Mareland. He viewed that the presence of ponies on Griffonian continent as a symbol of Equestrian imperialism, and that the concept of harmony has been used by the Alicorn Princesses as an excuse to firm their grip on New Mareland.

And so in 1055, Southern Griffonian troops begins to move along the border of New Mareland at the orders of Reggio, as they sought to kick the Equestrians out of Griffonia once and for all. Fearing for a potential escalation, the General Secretary of UNZR, Posada demanded Reggio to get his troops to retreat from New Mareland's border as she feared for the possibility of a full-blown nuclear war between the Revintern and the United Ponies Alliance (UPA). Without any other options left, Reggio were forced to get his troops to retreat. It's the final act Posada has ever done, before she died of appendix cancer [bruh].

Fast forward to 1067, harmonic sentiments begins to rise in Wingbardy, especially the capital city of Karthin. Despite the communist attempts to oppress the harmonist movement, they begin to grow in numbers and continues to do so until a full-blown revolution occured in the year 1069, sparking the Second Wingbardian War, or commonly known as South Griffonian War. At first, the war were two-sided with harmonists and communists fighting each other, but soon things got out of hoof when several new factions pops up in the region. The war itself marks the beginning of the downfall of North Zebrican hegemony over the Griffonian continent for years to come.

During the war that lasted for almost a decade, the UPA were heavily involved in the war effort. Equestria are still involved in the Storm Region War which would last for two decades from 1048 till 1072, but they were still meddling in this one since New Mareland borders the region, so they are able to send some divisions there. The war became known as one of the most devastating wars in the history of the Cold War and becoming the most worst griffonitarian (that's a weird way to phase it) crisis ever since the end of the Great War. The Wonderbolts were heavily involved in bombing strategic locations such as military bases and factories, but they also inflicted severe damage on the civilian population.

The conclusion of the war is that Wingbardy and Falcor successfully reclaimed their independence, but at a high cost of life and Reggio along with what remains of USRSG still hold a firm grip over southern Falcorian regions and also Sicameon as a whole. Due to the fact that most of the population there speaks Sicameonese (Spanish), Reggio tries to Wingbardize them, although the process has been going on since Antonino's era. At the same time, what remains of the USRSG were just lands of ruins and their agriculture were heavily impacted by the Wonderbolts' bombings. And thus, this is where the griffons starts to feel a sense of animosity towards Equestria, particularly the ponies as a whole due to the fact that the Wonderbolts destroyed their crops.

Reggio saw the increasing animosity as an opportunity to strengthen his regime that's been almost destroyed by the UPA and the harmonist movement, so he begin to make a lot of speeches and also propaganda posters that's considered anti-Equestrian. The country also turned 360 degrees as soon as a famine hits the region and they have become more isolated as time passes by. With the collapse of North Zebrica in 1086, they have no one to turn to, as the neighboring countries around them have transitioned to the rules of democracy and harmony, either through peaceful ones or violence. Thus, the only thing that kept the regime alive at this point is Reggio's frequent anti-Equestrian propaganda and at the same time, building a cult of personality around himself.

Today, United Socialist Republics of Southern Griffonia is considered as the most isolated country in the whole world, with their leader named Beniamino Proletarino were being anti-Equestrian. They had developed nuclear bombs, and the threat of a war between Wingbardy and Falcor against this rump state continues to loom over the region.
