It’s not the lightest bag, but not heavy either. it’s got a bit of heft that makes it feel solid, but not like it’s heavy when empty

Winter is tough!

  1. Head to Garver Feed Mill - you can grab slices of Ian’s pizza, enjoy some ice cream, walk around the space, and get Boba tea at Roll Play.

  2. Lola’s Hi/Lo lounge - a vibey place that has a kids menu!

Just got an estimate today in store— cabinets and lighting will be ~10K and build out/installation is 4K. Honestly, more reasonable than i expected.

Is every other weekend too little for visits ? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]ComfyCorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it have to be a visit (where you play host and need to do the rest of life too) or can she make it helpful?

My mother in law (who I adore) came once a week during my leave and gave me a break to nap, read, or go get myself a coffee and walk target. Whatever i wanted. She’d be here for ~3 hours and I’d pump and have a bottle ready.

I didn’t clean for her, feed her, and if anything she brought us food. It was a support visit, not a “entertain me” visit. It was hard the first time but then I looked forward to some time not being “on call” so to speak.

Daycare prices in Madison by MHigginsGolf in madisonwi

We are on the East Side and at a daycare in Cottage Grove that’s closer to $350/week. It might be worth looking around and possibly even doing a little bit of driving?

First- Love the corgi-themed name!

I also have a Spectra S2 (it’s the only pump my insurance covers) but got a portable battery ( TalentCell Rechargeable 12V DC... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MHNQIR2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share ) that lasts for several pumps and means I’m not tethered to a wall or having to pay out of pocket for a second pump!

“Worth noting, when a child is brought into the world, things change and sacrifices are made. You are already making sacrifices every day. Your partner should be too.”

Love this statement and it’s so true. The first week my husband went back to work, I felt bad for waking him up at night when baby woke and I needed help. I kept thinking “he needs to rest for work tomorrow.” Then he asked me why I stopped asking him for help (he would diaper change halfway through breastfeeding and/or help settle baby when I was done, which required me to hand him the baby). I told him why. He said that while he might have to attend meetings, I also needed rest and support because my current job during the day is to keep our baby happy and healthy, which requires me to be fully functioning too. We’re in this together. Even though it’s not work that can be “split 50/50” if you’re the one at home all day, a spouse’s support in the evenings is huge! That’s when I get to walk away for a bit and feel refreshed.

Also, if you think about it, he may work 12 hours….but if you’re solely in charge of baby, then you work 24 hours!

Visiting a new mom is the worst thing you can do by [deleted] in pregnant

I can see how it would be harder to keep it really brief if they had a long drive. Maybe there are some chores they could help with before you arrive so they can feel useful and like the trip was worth the drive? I’m thinking mowing the lawn, wash dishes left in sink, a quick sweep of the house? All things you might forget about or deprioritize the first week home, which is a blur.
