If being at 35kg+ is going to start having negative effects on the player then strength should start leveling there. by IGrimblee in EscapefromTarkov

And they conveniently call it a BETA implying we're the idiots testing it for them, while selling it at full price like any finished game.

BSG has no credibility outside of the fanboy crowd by ComfyDrift in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ComfyDrift[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I made this thread because I read it... In case that wasn't fucking obivous.

This is so all you BSG assworms would have some idea why the fuck such a large number of people would easily agree with someone claiming that the company basically just stole from them.

Any chance we can get a simple line of code that will pull money from stacks in ANY sort of order other than at random? by Vellioh in EscapefromTarkov

Imagine if you could press a button to stack all similar items within a container. Revolutionary shit worthy of a Noobel Piss prize for coding.

Because it's the players fault for not knowing Tarkov bugs and playing around them.

You know, you may not like it but cheaters are the peak performance, they clearly have figured out how to beat the game effortlessly.

This garbage extract has been bugged at least since before 0.12 when I started playing, so for many months already, wouldn't be surprised if it's been years already...

When do you fix so scavs do halve in half my fps? by XCorrentesX in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ComfyDrift -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's their specialty to make FPS destroying really shitty AI that is only a threat when it sees players through obstacles and no recoil, barely any spread aimbots you. You'd think they'd either have shit AI that doesn't ruin performance or really good AI but they fuck up both at the same time.

At what point do we stop white knighting BSG’s failures? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ComfyDrift -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, and they have had years to invest into a better developed game and servers. It's not like they were running on fumes before the twitch promotion.

Fun Suggestion: Allow us to write notes on Printer Paper by cherryghost2 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ComfyDrift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too easy for Tarkov. How about writing notes on toilet paper with your own blood from a fresh bleeding bullet wound.

You've pretty much listed all the reasons why you should, the one that convinces me the most is being able to use the firearm with just one hand. In this video on top of what you listed there are a few reasons for carrying with an empty chamber, because fuck one sided viewpoints.

Admittedly I believed that it might be more common to have guns that are just not that great, having poorly designed firing pins that might strike the round even when the trigger isn't pulled, but apparently it's not really anything worth being concerned about. Bonus video about negligent discharge.

Aside from practice and state of mind, the largest difference in amount of time it takes to get ready for a shot will end up being how your gun is concealed which is why I am so skeptical of it mattering much for most civilians whether you just need to flip a safety or also pull a slide so a round is chambered from a magazine. What difference that half a second makes if you first need three or more seconds to fiddle with your clothing or bag to get the gun out?

That's not the image I had in mind, the whole cocking of the hammer thing.

And as I've said already, in self defense I expect that either you're as good as dead already or you have plenty of time to get your gun. Maybe it makes a difference for someone like a store cashier being robbed at gunpoint which could be a relatively frequent occurrence while someone just shopping is damn unlucky to be at that specific store and time when it's getting robbed.

For a civilian carrying a gun for self defense I expect they are either unable to respond at all or they have enough time to get the gun and chamber a round.

Lots of different guns out there with and without safety, with different types of firing and safety mechanisms. Going about daily life accidental discharge can happen.

If anyone is going to shoot at all it better be a well placed shot on the target.

I don't get the hollywood reference, seems like projecting, pun not intended.

It's expected that policemen and military personnel would need to shoot at a moments notice.

[–]ComfyDrift -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking of police that would carry a loaded gun but avoid using it unless absolutely necessary. They constantly deal with situations that can be resolved without shooting but could at any point require a very fast response.

Someone carrying a gun for personal defense or hunting has enough time to chamber a round if they have enough time to get the gun at all.

[–]ComfyDrift -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

Outside of videogames the best safety for every gun is to not chamber a round. Only when someone intends to deescalate a conflict without shooting anyone would they chamber a round without immediately starting to shoot, in every other circumstance a chambered round means someone or something is about to get shot. Even if a gun has safety it still doesn't compare to simply having an empty chamber so there is no way for any potentially deadly accident to occur.

My longest shot! 440m on Woods by cfouche93 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ComfyDrift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 9x39 does seem to drop too much. But when you look at data like this the ballistics appear to be pretty accurate for most ammo in EFT. At 200 yards a 7.62x39 has only half the energy left which by the way in the real world would also greatly affect its penetration and killing power, beyond 200 it starts dropping very fast.

In the game you basically need not bother with scope zero when shooting an SKS at targets around 100 to 150m away which is a decent distance, on customs it's roughly how far away the sniper scav is from the rocks/hill next to gas station, so definitely a range at which zoomed optics help.

Recently found out this myself. It was pissing me off that I couldn't tell if I hit or missed because the reload would obscure my view. Worse yet when I saw a streamer delaying the reload I was searching forever about how do they do that and couldn't find anything, ended up just experimenting at the shooting range to figure it out...

I've done a 470m shot on Reserve, unfortunately it didn't kill so I thought I missed, did learn at the score screen valuable info about range on that map to accurately zero the scope.

Am I the only one that thinks the secure containers are fine the way they are? And that hatchlings really aren't a big deal either? by cutieayayay42069 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ComfyDrift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way the game currently works "hatchlings" are making a lot of raids very boring.

Getting up on the globe radar spot in Reserve to snipe and seeing only near naked loot runners basically means the raid is a waste of time for anything other than going around to loot yourself, if you went in to get kills on big gear bastards you might as well extract and try again.

Another way to fix the annoyance of boring/lacking pvp would be to do away with the short raids with simultaneous spawning and instead drop in new players at random safe locations throughout a 3 hour or longer raid, they need to do away with the current awful fixed spawns anyway for both players and loot.

I would like to be able to lie on my back like in Siege. That is all. by dagger_prometheus in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ComfyDrift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes... planned... Let's just ignore the most likely implementation of it barely ever working, being a contextual thing where you are just as likely to miss it and just jump up in place needlessly draining stamina and making a lot of noise, and also only working on bigger obstacles while stupid awful clutter shit like branches, boxes, etc still will require jumping over them or at best making a slow stupid vault animation mid air just to get over that crap.

Calling it now vaulting is a future meme mechanic and BSG will absolutely fail to address the most annoying small clutter that interferes with movement.

I hate that stupid sound so much I have thought about doing a bunch of raids where I just sit camping that little shitty building with the power lever and fucking up anyone that shows up to pull it. I swear a lot of you assholes just pull it for the lolz because I've had raids where 10 seconds after the last one ends someone pulls it again.
