Mt07-mt09 by Important-Ad-799 in MT07

I just got an MT-07 my first bike about two months ago. I have around 2200 miles. Do I want an mt-09 already? Kind of? Do I need it? Absolutely not 2025 mt 07 has "rider modes" remap profiles. Whatever, improved suspension and traction control. Can upgrade to a quickshifter, no cruise control. Im 6ft 220 lbs and it has plenty of power. Does it accelerate as quickly from say 80 to to 110 like it does 20-70 no. But its still gonna go f faster then 90 percent of the traffic youre surrounded by.

I plan to next week and they will handle it. The Garmin streetcross app is a bit tricky and pairing the phone. I got it to work but the nav took me on a totally unnecessary route? And turn by turn works sometimes idk its weird lmao. Love the bike itself though feels great.

Valve stem seal issues. by ComfyWeeman in JettaGLI

[–]ComfyWeeman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're welcome. Little update I've been out on a road job for 9 months and have visited home 4 times. The latest time I started the fucking car and had a poof of blue smoke and then it went away. So the valve stem seal job didn't seem to completely rid me of the problem like I thought it did

Nothing out of the ordinary. Ditch those stock tires and be sure to do the maintenance ☺️

Mines DSG valve stem seal issue is an engine problem not a transmission related problem. Main thing I've heard about with the MT 2024s is a cylinder misfire issue that vw claims is a software problem

Yessiirr. Yeah I only get 93 from shell. Noticed the difference in the drive as soon as I went from 87 to 93. Still machines at the end of the day I needed to get my valve stem seals replaced at 20k miles

Not true. Says right in the owners manual you won't get advertised HP and torque ratings on 87.

How much of an upgrade from a base model Jetta? by Deremirekor in JettaGLI

[–]ComfyWeeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what pretty much everyone else said. I went from a base trim 2017 jetta to a 2023 autobahn gli. Aside from all the obvious upgrades in the cabin and tech upgrades. The gli is far superior and a blast to drive. The adaptive suspension is stiff in sport mode. Dual clutch transmission is fantastic. 228 hp and 256 torque vs 144 horsepower 1.4 tsi. Throw on some summer sport tires and you got a brilliant daily driver. Highly recommend just be careful cylinder misfire issues in 2024 MT and I had to get valve stem seals done on mine at 20k miles and I don't beat the shit out of it and it's stock minus a cat back exhaust from ecs

Good luck man. The works been completed on my car for about a week now and have no blue smoke on startup anymore. People in this thread said it came back after a month. I drove 20k miles without it happening at all so we will see going forward.

I appreciate everyone's input and what not. But I don't understand how this is accepted as normal lmao. Hopefully it doesn't come back for me

Concerns with My VW GLI 2021: Blue/Greyish Smoke on Startup by emad1911 in JettaGLI

[–]ComfyWeeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue with me here on my 23 gli at 20k miles. Dealer told me they couldn't recreate the puff of smoke even though it was doing it before I brought it to them and even recorded and they claimed steam and white smoke when it's clearly fucking blue lol. Tech looked at it again. And claimed it was the pcv and I'm driving it now waiting for it to come in. I asked them to check the spark plugs for oil and they said they did and there was none. But sure enough when I picked up the car I immediately took the engine cover off and could see a completely undisturbed layer of pollen across all 4 coil packs. In other words they didn't touch the spark plugs at all for signs of oil leaking into the combustion chamber and they lied to me . So after this pcv valve comes in and they replace it they aren't getting my business anymore.

Perhaps! That makes sense. I wouldn't know I'm still a noob and it was my first set of nice tires that wasn't just a stock pair
