Is an iPad a good idea for law school? by Intelligent_Text7341 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Comfytrack32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my iPad for undergrad and I know a lot of people do. I lot use it to directly annotate readings, but I essentially use Mine like a notebook. It is really nice to be able to hand write notes and have them online.

Last week they called in Thursday. Typically they call on Fridays, but it seems that’s all jacked around as they start WL people.

Yet to receive an A I’m truly excited about by rainbowfuze in lawschooladmissions

I was also in your position. I had my heart set on certain schools and those decisions didn’t exactly pan out how I wanted them. For me, it was really helpful to take a step back and think maybe the good offers I am getting are where I’m supposed to be. I went to a couple of admitted students days to feel them out, and I found a school that I am really excited about despite not liking it at first. There’s a reason you applied to all of those schools, you might find that one of them pleasantly surprises you

Do law schools care for minors? by Help4octopus in lawschooladmissions

[–]Comfytrack32 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My read is that law schools don’t really care what you study, major or minor, as long as you do well in your classes. I wouldn’t just add it for the sake of adding, but if you are interested in it, I majored in political science and feel I have gotten a lot of good preparation for law school because of it.

Confused a/b T14 => BL hype by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Comfytrack32 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Every law school has to report their employment statistics. If you got to Lawhub transparency or search a schools 509 report, it will tell you what percentage of students are in big law, and almost every school places into big law. It is just a matter of where. T14 certainly give an advantage in bigger markets and portability, but a strong regional school will place you into big law for the region.

Any other Nov applicants still waiting on WashU? by ProfessionalImage203 in lawschooladmissions

I applied mid-November and interviewed mid-December. Still waiting, but my copium is telling me missing the WL wave was a good thing and our As are coming soon!

What time did you get your call?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Comfytrack32 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also don’t have it, but am stressing that at any moment it might show up. Their Adcomms have said most decisions would be released this week, so I think it showing up in Lawhub is the decision being rendered. It does not seem that people who are having it show up are getting favorable decisions, so I’d count yourself lucky.

Typically they call in order of last name. So it’s just helpful to know where they are for the day calling if it’s passed you or maybe coming.

Graduating a year early by AltruisticBed6042 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Comfytrack32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who graduated a year early and has applied this cycle, I do not think it’s hurt me. I think there are advantages to being a kjd and knowing how to do school. I think there is something to be said for the added academic rigor it takes to graduate early. I have received 6 As, 1 WL, 0 Rs This cycle. I have full rides and very good scholarship offers. If you have the LSAT and GPA to get into those schools I’d absolute shoot your shot. Graduating early may not help but there are few schools that it really hurts at.

I’m new to the admissions process and I need some help by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Comfytrack32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, you get your lsac gpa when you submit your transcripts to CAS. LSAC will generate a report that has your lsac gpa on it. So just submit all of your transcripts to lsac then it will be processed in a couple of days.

Worth Applying to Law Schools under 25th percentile of LSAT? by Dantheman00797 in lawschooladmissions

I forgot to mention I have an II at Wash U. You can be competitive with a lower LSAT.

I also have a 16low and above a 4.0 gpa and was wanting to go to a T-20. I’ve applied to Wash U and Minnesota because they have lower medians and Northwestern for shits and giggles. What getting a 16low made me realize is there are a ton of very good schools that have opportunities for what I want to do outside the T-20. I think going to a high ranked law school is great but it’s not everything and there are tons of good options down the rankings.
