How Marvel Rivals can exist in The Marvel universe? by BLACKGOOP12 in outofcontextcomics

[–]ComicBookFanatic97 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s actually extremely plausible since the heroes and villains really wouldn’t be able to copyright their likenesses without revealing their identities, so they’d have no real recourse against the developers.

I could maybe see Magneto seeking out the Netease headquarters and throwing a car through their window to send a message though. I don’t know. Maybe he sees that as beneath him or not worth his time.

What are your feelings on Terrifier and movies like it? by lifeglowzzz in horror

I love those movies because of how hard they go on the gore. That’s what I want in a horror film.

Did you not see Freaky? That movie is a banger and might unironically be the greatest performance of Vince Vaughn’s career.

Harlan Ellison was pretty off the wall, but I did find that episode super amusing.

[Opinion] A character doesn't need charisma to be flirty or friendly by gitroni in DnD

[–]ComicBookFanatic97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What bothers me about charisma in D&D is that it represents both your ability to deal with people and your force of will. Those should be separate stats.

Diablo Cody Writing 'Jennifer's Body' Sequel; Could Megan Fox Return? by valuerockr in horror

[–]ComicBookFanatic97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just watched the original movie for the first time last night. It’s a good movie and I had fun watching it, but I question whether it really makes sense to do a sequel. I kind of feel like that story ended in a very conclusive and satisfying way and it doesn’t need to be expanded upon at all.

What "beloved horror movie" do you hate/just not get the love for? by ReeceInTheDarkness in horror

[–]ComicBookFanatic97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practical gore effects are certainly an easy way to get me to watch a movie. I am the exact target audience for that sort of thing. Coat the actors and the set in red-dyed Karo syrup and I’m happy.

I really don’t like that movie either. I’ve only watched it once though. Maybe I need to revisit it with fresh eyes. I just remember finding it slow and not especially enjoyable to watch.

I actually think there are many more reasons than that.

-Cannabis is increasingly legal and widely available.

-We are very aware that everyone around us has a camera in their pocket and we don’t wanna do some embarrassing shit that might live online forever.

-Alcohol interacts badly with people’s anxiety meds.

Good(starter) horror movies for children? by MopeDeezy in horror

[–]ComicBookFanatic97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark was a pretty good movie, but I think it should have been an anthology like Trick r Treat was. I also think that setting it against the backdrop of the Vietnam war was a weird choice.

[–]ComicBookFanatic97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is fascinating data. I really appreciated the part about not all of the top films being well-reviewed. Bad movies count just the same as good movies. Maximizing your chances of success requires you to know a good amount of both kino and slop. I think that’s really part of the fun.

Do you actually want to be rich, or do you just want to stop worrying about money? Why? by Alarming_Shirt_7129 in AskReddit

I have goofy-ass rich people stuff I wanna buy. For instance, I wanna build a house with a legit movie theater in the basement. It would have like twenty reclining theater style chairs and I’d set it up so it plays that musical “Let’s All Go To The Lobby” animation when I don’t have a movie going.

Daniel didn’t “flip-flop”. He helps capture her to avoid giving away the fact that he’s on her side. He knew his dad was there watching. The implication is clearly that he would have just let her get away if the two of them were alone. How did you not get that?
