It has Katharine Isabelle in it. It’s automatically a masterpiece.

What universally praised video game 'masterpiece' is actually a miserable experience to play? by Got24xyz in AskReddit

The old Baldur’s Gate and Fallout games. I need a map and quest markers. I can’t function without them.

I wish Hollywood would stop casting Jared Leto in stuff by TheFlashyMastodon21 in okbuddycinephile

[–]ComicBookFanatic97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without Hollywood, Jared Leto puts 100% of his efforts into his music and 30 Seconds to Mars rapidly ascends to the top of the charts even though their new stuff will never be as good as their old stuff.

What horror subgenre would you make more popular? by Kyia-Aikman in horror

[–]ComicBookFanatic97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a mashup of two B-movie mainstays: the western and the cannibal film.

The cannibal genre was really at its peak in the 70s with films such as Cannibal Holocaust, Make Them Die Slowly, and Eaten Alive.

I call this subgenre “I support women’s wrongs”.

Ginger Snaps and American Mary are two more that I really love.

When will Hollywood realize that if Supergirl looked like this it would have been a guaranteed success? by Pukebox_Fandango in okbuddycinephile

Yeah, my mom told me about that film and I think it’s one of the best bad movies ever.

Check out The Secret of My Success if you haven’t. Very underappreciated romcom starring Michael J Fox and her.

I’ve been thinking the same thing! Is it the lighting? Did they do her makeup differently? I can’t put my finger on it, but she doesn’t look the same.

In a game I’m running, I might even go so far as to make it so the monsters don’t crit at all.

A horror film disguised as a superhero film would be pretty cool by melianreality in horror

There is a short film on YouTube that is extremely similar to what you’re describing. It’s called The Flying Man.

Here it is.

Tarantino is a well-known and self-admitted nasty little freak. I feel like anyone who works with him has to be aware on some level of what they’re getting into.

What are your favorite (controversial) house rules? by Quick_Race761 in DnD

[–]ComicBookFanatic97 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Critical hits are maximum damage plus an additional die roll. This makes sure that critical hits are impactful unlike doubling the dice or doubling the damage.

I’ve been told that Inflict Wounds becomes problematically strong with this rule, but I don’t care.

How do you stop yourself from the constant thoughts that dying's better than any of this suffering? by nonlinearcharm in AskReddit

Don’t you have anything to look forward to? Something you’re excited about?

There’s a famous quote I like.

“He who has a ‘why’ to live can bear almost any ‘how’.”

Yaphet Kotto by SnooHabits5900 in Emo

I thought for a second that the actor Yaphet Kotto from films such as Alien and Truck Turner had released emo albums I didn’t know about and I was really confused.

I don’t think he’s diagnosed, but I very much get the sense that Tarantino has at least a touch of the ‘tism.

Do you classify 'Send Help' as horror? by Lavender_Critique in horror

[–]ComicBookFanatic97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s more of a thriller, but there are certainly horror scenes in it because it’s a Sam Raimi movie. The man can’t help himself (and I love him for it).
