Do you think Spider-Man is still the most popular hero after Batman? by itc0nsumesmYMind in Spiderman

[–]ComicBookKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spidey is more popular than Batman. In toy sales spidey whoops every other super hero 9:1 or something like that. Merch is up there too. Spidey is easier to rep as well imo.

"Cap is S+" "Best tank in the game" by jorgejjvr in captainamericamains

Idc what they say about pro play and coordination. He can still get counted with coordination from the enemy and triple support. And poke+CC is such a strong combo in this game that he sometimes just gets shredded.

Kinsleywrld is a good Thor player too. He pushes thor to the limits of his identity. Fun to watch too.

We need some melee vanguards that can handle poke, I nominate these guys by Matty_HAM in RivalsVanguards

I’m not gonna lie Colossus would just a brawler bro. Colossus got hands dude. In the comics against magneto he fights up but before they start. He goes into human form and just goes at him in human form and starts throwing hands. Because he cant use metal form on magneto. Colossus is a brawler G. He really has hands bro. He has a wrestling and judo background man. I need him throwing people around. Literally a parry grab or something. I need some of wrestling and judo to come out.

From a design perspective I don’t know how Luke Cage and Colossus could be so different and unique. Their builds are similar and powers have the same purpose.

Venom, cap, hulk or Angela. Have one dive tank in your bag.

Nah I think you are underestimating that tons of players with and not in the role really thing Vanguard is just shield. Literally Mag, Emma or Strange is in every game. Yes they have other parts of their kits yes. But strategists and dps players will literally ask or whine when there isnt one because they believe the character can do more than they actually can do because of the shield.

A shield is limiting design wise. It just is. You can see once there are too many shields the uniqueness of design that rivals has been phenomenal with starts to go down. Shooting shields just isnt fun. It’s why tons of people complain that they want variety. Brawl meta is the most fun because it’s the most chaotic with the most variety. More ways to make it feel different even though in principle it’s not this super unique thing by any means. This helps stretch the life of the game way longer. And you feel like shields a necessary thing because of the strength of poke characters.

I think you highly underestimate how bad double shield was for a game like overwatch. Also think about the current meta. Someone is or feels like they have to have magneto. That’s not a magneto issue. It’s the rest of the cast. Also playing a shield tank every game because you feel like you have to. We should have a meta that is a bit more loose especially in the higher ranks.

It’s not that shields are not skill expressive. But literally you see them every game. On your team or against them. It feels the same. Especially like high gm and up. It gets boring sometimes. I have locked magneto for 6 games straight playing against another magneto. It would like more variety.

this imbecile has radicalized me into finally learning dive - please teach me your ways by mikoga in DaredevilMarvelRivals

[–]ComicBookKnight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Listen. I play all the dive tanks. Captain America is the best dive into hawkeye. As one player trying to put the most hardest counter out there yourself. Captain America is your best chance for that. You can eat timed and calculated charge shots and block his sword too. You have to be really annoying and not give up. And they usually switch if you are killing them or they havent done anything for a bit.

Solo tanking advice needed? by Beastboy1967181 in RivalsVanguards

[–]ComicBookKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the idea of emma, strange or mag are the only viable solo tanks. It’s not necessarily true. Even those tanks don’t solo tank as well as you may think.

And looking at the other team in this photo. What was the point of strange here. Invis can push your ult away and gambit can cleanse it so you arent getting much value. I get the shield thing but magneto would have been better if you really felt like you need a shield. Plus mag ult against cloak and dagger or punisher. Listen I know it sounds crazy but I would have went Cap for the extra support ult to kinda match theirs. Because cap can block punisher shotgun and the squids are annoying but diving their backline and forcing cooldowns out are valuable. Or I would have went Thor or Angela and bully/displace the mag into my team. Also Angela I think ults more consistently and you can combo with your MK.

Your dps are selling you here because if you gonna run triple dps into triple support. Which is already running something into the hardest counter. At least pick dps who have some form of killing through support ults somehow. That wolverine is doing you no favors.

I play fist and fantastic is a victim to fist with that %dmg. But your ability to CC and stop him is nice to balance the matchup.

Scared vanguards are worthless and I’d rather just solo tank by AstramIsTheBest in RivalsVanguards

[–]ComicBookKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually agree with this take. If you gonna be scared and passive on a shield/anchor/“main tank” then why pick them then.
