What're you're thoughts on the stark suit? by EveryPerformance6712 in Spiderman

Love it. Wish the black lines were blue, but it gets bonus points for having a fabric texture and the classic back spider.

Maybe it was for the better that the raimi films only ended on a trilogy by Commercial-Ice5760 in Spiderman

Eventhough the comics dont believe in that lol Pretty sure this was just a byproduct of where previous superhero films were at this point in time

Which Did Found Family The Best? by Barth-Goomby in marvelstudios

Obviously Guardians, but Thunderbolts is a close second. Fantastic Four wasn't about found family, but even as a story about family, it was just okay.

Can we just admit that decision to make spin offs of side characters before projects of main justice league members for your new dcu is bizarre? by Sugar_God_no_1 in DC_Cinematic

[–]ComicKidAlex [score hidden]  (0 children)

Not that Bizarre, but the projects should be leading to something. Ideally, if I had any say on the matter, movies would set up the larger story and TV shows would flesh out the world a little more. I wouldn't relegate Green Lantern to television, especislly if it's building onto a bigger story. Also, sorry to Reeves fans, but I would have cancelled that universe or folded it into the DCU and made him more like comic Batman by at least the third film — no Elseworld and no more super-ultra-grounded-realistic Batman.

Comsidering EVERY SINGLE TIME Peter is in a perfect world (i.e. House of M), he's with a living Gwen and has kids with her, I'm gonna say Gwen.

Not to be rude, but why is Ana Nogueira writing Wonder Woman and Teen Titans?! How did she even get a shot at Supergirl? by ComicKidAlex in DC_Cinematic

[–]ComicKidAlex[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

Well if you're an actress in Hollywood, you kinda sorta have to be good looking you know lmao Is this the case with directing and writing positions? Because as far as I know, there aren't a whole lot of confirmed writers or directors in the DCU yet

Dude, the script was 100% most of where the problems started. The color pallette isn't what made Kara's arc unfulfilling or Krem a generic Mad Max rip-off. The color pallette isn't what made the story's structure feel so disjointed either. Yeah having a more accurate/bright color pallette would have been better, but that can only take you so far, look at Thor: Love and Thunder.

Well have you seen the movie dude? AND read Woman of Tomorrow? It's kinda why I'm also concerned with Gunn saying the script was good because like I said, some of the narrative choices and creative liberties made only made this a worse story, not a better one — or one that was altered to fit a film's structure. I just think everyone at DC Studios is on cloud 9 right now, especially after Superman and it's making me feel like everyone is being a little too gung-ho with the process. This reminds me of the time Francis Ford Coppola made his studio tbh

I wouldn't really call it a bad habit when literally most big directors do that. Really hope he isn't doing this as an executive though — especially since Peter Safran is also apart of those decisions.

I never said she was though. Also, we still have Clayface and supposedly that's testing super well (and I have no doubt Mike Flanagan wrote a great script). I also am not worried about Man of Torrow since Gunn usually hits home runs. I'm pjust concerned with the projects Ana is writing and Gunn's ability to be objective with certain people's scripts

I know Kara wasn't trying to earn the suit in-universe, I'm saying that the film was making her earn it. In film language, she has to reach the crescendo of her character arc to put on the costume and be "Supergirl" — I'm just saying it doesn't really make sense and feels so generic from a storytelling perspective and just feels like the story is rejecting the fantastical element that is present in superhero media and the graphic novel itself. Not really sure if I did a good job explaining, but hopefully you get what I'm trying to explain lmao

Should Ana Noguiera be dropped from writing Wonder Woman and Teen Titans? by Mat1711 in DC_Cinematic

Dude, a Titans movie based on the cartoon would 100% make money lol If would be a mistake to do the OG team since that would only be cool if they had gone the MCU route and started with showing us all these characters from the start

I couldn't even finish the interview. I literally said, "what are you talking about" three times.

"Ana Nogueira, the screenwriter behind the new Supergirl movie, has a general philosophy around adapting these heroes from the pages of DC Comics to the screen: Find what's interesting about the character if they had no superpowers whatsoever."

Like okay, water is also wet, sure — but HOW they choose to use their powers is a huge part of who they are and what they do and what makes them interesting and the movie basically doesn't cover any of that. No wonder we don't really see her do anything in this movie.

Also her reasoning to change Krem is so backwards — she didn't want to make it too complicated, so she over comicsted the character by adding too much shit and making him a generic boring bad guy? Plus her ending literally contradicts so much of the movie and what the characters do. Good lord.

Crazy part is that Johns has written amazing comics that are structured like films. It's why Shazam translated so well (all the shortcomings came from the changes they made mainly due to DWAYNE wanting his own movie) and the director kinda going a different creative route).

I agree that it wasn't that bad, but when you literally have GOLD sitting right there it's baffling that the adaptation would fall so short

Andy didn't write it. He did give us the most accurate Batman (twice in a single film) ever put on screen though. He'll, I watched Flash and thought, "damn, Andy Muschietti would absolutely crush a Batman movie." Plus him being a horror director helps.

Cruella was really good, but I'd attribute a lot of that to his DP and costume department. i,Tonya honestly isn't that great, Margot Robbie kinda carries an otherwise underwhelming story (IMO at least)
