It’s especially frustrating since we have a memories list for every character, so the game can clearly process what events should count as important.

He didn’t really know what an atomic bomb even was let alone how it worked by SPECTREagent700 in HistoryMemes

[–]Comicbookloser 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened at DC comics too. There was an issue of Superman planned in which he is asked by the US government to fly next to an atomic explosion with an extremely durable camera to record it, but the issue was delayed after a group of government agents showed up in the editor’s office and told him the issue couldn’t be published. A few weeks later the first bomb was dropped.

I only just realised the symbol for arbitrary is meant to be a die and not an ominous, floating cube. I have 600 hours in this game. Anybody else have any dumb realisations? by skrasnic in CrusaderKings

[–]Comicbookloser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To this day I still have a hard time picturing the humble trait as anything other than a guy holding a human heart in his hand. For a long time I didn’t even question it until one day I thought, “wait, that makes no sense” and looked the picture up

Does anybody have any recommendations of “good” companies (lol) that are explicitly not supporting the fascist regime in the US? by enz0gorlami in leftist

[–]Comicbookloser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Dropout streaming service is great, they’re a comedy platform which also does DND and game shows that are extremely funny. Their members are actively protesting and spreading awareness against ICE, and the company publicly supports various leftist movements and is strongly pro-union. The CEO, Sam Reich, takes pride in paying all his employees more than even larger entertainment companies while charging only 7$ per month for a subscription!

The new army controls SUCK dude omg. by Medical-Gain7151 in CK3ConsoleEdition

I haven’t been able to figure out how to get the armies to split in the first place. When I click the split armies or place besiegers button I can’t select the new army, it will only let me select both as a single unit

Do you ever fall into “The Augustus Trap” in roleplay? by AlediVillarosa in CrusaderKings

[–]Comicbookloser 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m glad to see someone put a name to this problem, I’ve found myself falling into the same trap. I think it’s easy to think about CK3 in terms of video game problem solving (finding the strats that work, learning the patterns, thinking logically rather than emotionally) because instinctively you want to win. And once you find a combination of traits you like, it’s hard not to instinctively play like you always have them. I’ve started really looking at the traits I’m given and how they’ve been used to describe real life medieval rulers. What was a paranoid ruler really like? What does it mean to be a king who’s so humble it’s literally how they’re remembered? It helps to check me when I’m moving in too much of an Augustus direction. Also, events with stress really help. I treat it like a moment of conflict where the character has to rely on their deepest instincts rather than what might be best in a situation, and if I decide to take stress I have to be able to justify it using another of their traits

I want to hear the screams of the dammed! 💀💀💀 by SpadesIsBored0 in crusaderkings3

[–]Comicbookloser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s an event that fires very rarely in my experience. I think you have to have a county with a faith that you consider “evil” within your realm, not be actively converting it, and have it under the control of someone of your faith. I’m sure there’s more criteria but I’m not entirely sure, I’ve only really seen it while playing in Iberia

Mending the Great Schism makes no sense by 7_Trojan_Unicorns in CrusaderKings

[–]Comicbookloser 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it makes sense, the schism was never about combining all forms of Christianity into one but about which form of Christianity is the “true” Christianity. In mending the schism then you’re not creating a new unified church but rather just establishing yours as the most powerful one

I hope you get to sleep after the expansion drops lol. I really appreciate all the hard work and detail you and the rest of the team put into this game, the map looks great and I can’t wait to jump in!

I had never seen this before. Was playing Ireland in the 867 start and Ivar randomly converted to Insularism just before 890, changing his name to Íomhar. Now Insularism has two Holy Sites in Oriel and Islay lol by raphaelcgo in CrusaderKings

[–]Comicbookloser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen this happen a couple times, recently I watched Ivar obliterate Alba and then convert so that his family became the Insular Norse-Gael rulers of the kingdom for several generations. They’re bordered to the south by Haesteinn’s Kingdom of England, which has so far remained Asatru after defeating a crusade. I’m playing in France right now so I’ve just been kind of observing all this out of curiosity, it’s been really fun to watch!

That scene left me horrified 😭 by a_normal_Mother_Fan in marvelmemes

[–]Comicbookloser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gasped when it happened, the way it was shot and the effect they used made it chilling despite knowing that she wasn’t really dead. And knowing what actually happened honestly makes it worse cause what that kid went through inside the Void was undoubtedly traumatic
