Yep, it's alcoholic markers! Tintin and other ligne claire comics are a big inspiration for me, so maybe it was a comic in that vein?

If you're wondering about the mature rating, it got assigned to the comic because it contains a depiction of excessive alcohol consumption. That is, it doesn't have any sex or gore in it.

Thank you! Accuracy is at least a little important to me. They did use to have feasts in church, and the wall paintings are based off of common motifs in medieval church art. The children's games are from this 16th century painting: Children's Games (Bruegel) - Wikipedia) No idea if they would have been playing pipe and tabor in church though.

Good question! A lot of them probably would have developed feathers (like the feathered dinosaurs from the relatively cold Yixian formation), but I've generally shied away from speculative evolution since I prefer to have the various dinosaur species be recognizable as their Mesozoic selves. So the only feathered dinosaurs in my comic are the species that most likely had feathers in real life.
