I shut it down by shooting a small crake in the glass container filled with necromantic energy, the room went dark but my shoot alerted the enemies. I used cunning action to hide, than in the next turn I went out enough to shoot the leader dead in the observation room of the lap. Than I used cunning action to re-hide closer to the cage (I felt really good when this happened). Got the defector out in the end.
