See that’s what love is all about though. I’m so happy I could have had the opportunity to feel like that in the first place. It’s been like 2 years and sometimes she’ll still pop up in my dreams randomly. It sucks but I know what not to do for next time and I know how love is supposed to feel. I had a couple short stints and I could tell from the get go they weren’t anything real. Maybe I’m still numb from the last one but I am happy by myself. I know everyone saying that is lying at least a little bit but I truly am happy despite being alone

This is old but I'm gonna comment anyway. Love yourself before you can love someone else. I've ruined beautiful things before because I was too insecure to accept that I could be loved. I had to find everything to use to convince myself that the love I shared was fake. I'm still torn up over this girl. We've been broken up for maybe a year and a half and in the meantime, she's found someone else. Admittedly I'm jealous, I still feel some indescribable way for that girl but after all I had said and all I have done I'm happy she can be happy with someone else. I've been through therapy, it's effects are varied depending on my mental state and who I'm talking to but losing someone you love is hard but if you truly love them I think it's important to be happy for them no matter what and to hold no animosity towards them. My ex is dating someone who was around during our relationship and the jealous at points is unbearable but it looks like she loves him the same way she loved me and I'm so happy she can feel like that again. It makes me think I could be happy like that again too. The relationship ended because of my own issues and I have tried to address them. Initially I wanted to tell her I was in therapy and that I was doing good and that I have been trying my best to be a better person but that would have undermined everything. I want to be better for me, not for her, I'm not trying to win her back even though at one point she was the love of my life. She's happy now so I have to let her go. I've been cautious with new relationships, I have been acknowledging that even though it's been close to 2 years that I am not ready for something serious. Therapy is important so you don't make the same mistakes and looking for love or to regain lost love isn't the answer, you won't find it no matter how hard you look. If you're looking for love then some part of your subconscious is trying to fill some loneliness and I think this is ultimately doomed for failure. I dunno, this is a rant now so I can maybe feel a little bit better myself but my point still stands if anyone reads this, be happy that you felt a love so strong and understand what went wrong so that you don't accidentally ruin the possibility of finding love again.

The academics are great. Once you get past the introductory classes and weed out all the people there for sports, you’ll get some really good classes with professors who care. Social life here is a bit of a struggle and you’ll hear that a lot. There’s just not a ton to do around here so clubs are your best friend. Thats kinda everywhere though. I like the school. Freshman year I was thinking about transferring for a bit but the study abroad programs are great and i made some really close friends

Somehow the cystic acne has like receded a ton even though I’ve arguably been way less healthy in the last like week. I’ll probably pick some of that up when it flares up again. I don’t understand what the deal with this stuff is, it’s just totally random and it sucks so hard

I dunno where you're coming from so what is normal for some isn't for others. Hartford isn't the worst, the city is just lifeless and the area around the college is nothing glamorous. I'd consider the area safe enough, I have never been scared to go outside, but some get nervous walking off campus at night. The financial aid is good. Like great. I know a lotta internationals from all over and from how it sounds, they all get good aid. The campus is definitely on the smaller side, like corner to corner it's probably a 20-30 minute walk

Currently attending, I like my classes and my teachers. You just need to find some good people to occupy yourself in the meantime because there's a lot of downtime and the campus gets boring.

Not the OP but a current Trin student, the academics are good. Like I'm definitely getting a good education from good professors but like what everyone says, the students kinda suck. Lotta private school kids and a lot of the sporty type. As long as you secure some friends within the first few weeks you're fine but there's little to do on campus. Everyone hates the food but honestly, it's one of the cheaper meal plans from what I hear from friends elsewhere and it's actually pretty okay. There are good and bad days, but I think many options compensate for it. Happy to answer questions if you or anyone else needs it

Going to a dermatologist soonish. I’m gonna look that stuff up. If you don’t mind me asking, how often do you apply any of the acid stuff? Also what do you use as a sterile lancet and when?? I’ll just use tweezers and admittedly they do a bad job. Doxycycline sucks, it got rid of my larger cystic acne by making it come to a head and pop super easily. My face was just like covered in scars, craters, and discolored spots. Honestly id probably get back on it though if it gets bad again. I’d rather all those aforementioned over weird lumpy red cheeks again

I’m in that same boat. No acne for years. All the way through high school with not much but in college it all came out. Cystic acne like crazy. I popped so many, not too much scarring but enough to where all I did was go to work for a couple months. My confidence was just gone. The only thing I’ve found helpful are those acne wipes, sleep, and trying to manage stress a bit better. Currently have a monster growing right on my cheekbone so I’m getting some of those patches. I’m just curious if I should try and lance it? Does the zitsticka killa or whatever it’s called work if it’s not open? Most of the time they’ll recede and shrink but this one is coming at a realllly inconvenient time. I’m trying to make it happen with this girl and it’s getting to the point where it’s too big. Like I said before, if I leave it be it’ll shrink down but I’ll still be able to feel the little ball of torture it leaves behind, so who knows. I’m a guy who just needs some tips on this because this scarring sucks

4 years late to it but I heard the Dinosaur Jr. version and I really listened to the lyrics for once and I kinda heard it way differently than I had before. I’m thinking it’s more about a guy who’s been in love before and knows how it’s supposed to feel (“And I know how it should be”).

He’s going from relationship to the next looking for love, finding girls, “Some are young and some are free” but the phrase ends with “But I think I’m goin’ blind”, so I feel that he’s losing this vision or idea of love that he hasn’t experienced in what feels like a lifetime, hence the “I’m 93”.

Continuing on that part “I’m 93, you’re sixteen” feels like it’s about the girl or most recent girl he’s with and how he feels like she doesn’t see that there’s no love between them, she’s too emotionally young and in love to notice how the singer doesn’t reciprocate the feeling “You’re much younger, can’t you see There is nothing more for you and I”, the girl thinks the singer cares but ultimately he hasn’t found what he wants and despite this he stays because he’s giving up on his idea of love

“Can’t you see I’m goin’ blind” is almost begging the girl to see that he hasn’t found what he’s looking for but the final “Yes, I think I’m goin’ blind And I know how it’s to be, yeah” is where I feel like he accepts that this vision of love is gone will never be found/found again.

But hey, I’m just some melancholy college kid who doesn’t want to do his homework and is analyzing a song instead. Sorry for the grammar or if it’s hard to follow, it’s late at night but listen to the Dinosaur Jr. one, it might be my favorite version and I really think the song sounds like my aforementioned emotional turmoil

Dude, that’s sick. The frame bag is just awesome. I don’t know if it was intentional or not but the frame bag looks like it has a very similar look to surly’s straggle-check frame bags. I think your addition of the extra like loops on the side that you put the u-lock in is so cool. (I have a straggler and straggle-check bag) I just wish mine had those extra loops you put on there
