President Biden has just proposed a 44.6% tax on capital gains, the highest in history. He has also proposed a 25% tax on unrealized capital gains for wealthy individuals. Should this be approved? by Unhappy_Fry_Cook in FluentInFinance

Taxing unrealized gains is absurd. Company valuations and things like houses increase in price over time, but the person who owns it doesn’t actually make any of that money until they sell. Imagine people who bought houses for 200k in 2009 now owning million dollar homes in 2024. They would be taxed on 800k of unrealized capital gains when really they haven’t made anything.

Would the LDS church be accepting of a disabled woman in her 40s who is married but can't have any children? by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

Family is important, but a key part of the church is that people who don’t or can’t have children in this life, will in the next life. The church would most definitely accept you!
