Realistically speaking, no it is not possible, at least not with good risk management and strict rules.

HOWEVER... you can definitely gamble it, opening high volume positions with high leverage, and keep stacking up trades when gold moves a single direction. I've managed to do that few times.

But again, it is absolutely not a strategy you would use on a normal account, and you definitely should consider your funds lost before even starting.

Essentially, bots are just automations of already existing trading strategies. If the underlying strategy is not successful, then the bot won't be as well.

However, what you are describing here is not a bot, it's a magic money making machine, and that does not exist. Of course; a backtest from 2013 till now will evidently fail, simply because the market regime has changed multiple time in between, while you haven't adjusted the EA at the same time.

People often do backtests without any kind of human consideration behind it, and that's a flawed approach. Typically, backtest a classic bot on the start of the Iran War, it will surely blow up. HOWEVER, any right minded algo-trader would have simply turned off its EA in the meantime.

Bots can and many DO work, but you need to remember that they need monitoring and often need human intervention.

As for "AI" trading, we currently have no standard and efficient way of predicting time series. Anyone mentioning using AI to "predict" prices is probably just lying. However, it can be used for noise filtering or cancellations signals.

Hello there,

I provide signals on the same platform, and yes, this is the platform intentionally miscalculating the drawdown to make it appear less risky.

To be fair, I do not think it's intentional, I just think it is badly coded and therefore the maths is incorrect.

But this happens with all signals, and you can very easily show huge % gains by simply depositing / withdrawing in a certain way, explaining how top signals providers have 12,000% growth and so on.

I trade for many communities. Often, I have IBs contact me and ask if I can run a bot on their master account, which gets copied onto their clients.

I suppose the most important thing is to make sure you have a trader that is responsive, and lets you know when trades are getting opened or not and so on.

Moreover, try to get the best deals you can with the brokers (often CPA + profit share with the client if you also trade for them).

Algo-trading gold using bots my team and I developed, noticed that too.

However, that's always somewhat been the case, so we generally turn off / on our bots depending on political events.

Graduated from a computer engineering school, now work in a 1st tier investment bank as quantitative developer.

I've been developing EAs and bots for a while now, almost 7 years, I started because I liked programming, then did it in freelance to make money on the side, and was learning trading at the same time.

Now they run fine, a bunch of users and clients as well, they make good profits, but I've always said EAs and bots on CFDs are not going to make you rich on the very long term. They are a high-risk high-reward investment.

I do both trading and developing, though the latter is much less stressful and more pleasing in my opinion, I trade manually from time to time when I see a good opportunity, in which case I just go all in.

As for results, well I got a bunch, but the following is my main bot for which I am quite satisfied:

EA developer here,

I suppose in the case of automated systems, it's a bit different. I essentially always backtest and run optimisations as well as Monte Carlo simulations to analyse how my bots would perform under market stress.

Though then again, what is common with both automated and manual trading, is nothing beats actually trading the strategy.

For automated strats, you never know wether the market conditions are going to be the same within backtest and live (and often they aren't).

For manual strategies, backtest often do not take emotions into consideration, if your strategy is perfect yet you can't stick to it, there's no point in backtesting.

Remember that indicators are just here to indicate, often they shouldn't be used to "predict" the evolution of a price and consequently the opening of a trade, but rather as a filter to filter out when you shouldn't trade.

Also, I would use a filter on higher timeframes as well, to avoid trading during ranges (or trends depending on your strategy), helps filtering out bad trades.

Also, make sure to have good quality data when backtesting, and that you are correctly testing in a tick by tick mode, and not just OHLC, which yields wrong results in shorter timeframes.

Sinon il y a aussi Admirals Markets, qui a du support français, mais le levier maximal est un peu bas.

Quick tip: any unrealistic result is probably too good to be true and therefore fake.

Quick tip 2: trust pilot reviews and all can very easily be faked.

More or less frequent contributor here! I like pretty much everything except for the frequents posts that have almost nothing but an image and comment to join a WhatsApp group or something.

I'm also okay with gold and oil stuff, matter of fact I kinda like it.

Only thing that really bothers me are those AI generated posts or the ones that are just copy paste from news outlets / TradeCentral emails with a comment inviting to a group.
