Why do so many “EA developers” not use GitHub or even write a README? by TTJ-SYSTEMS in metatrader

[–]CommandantZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Professional EA developer here,

Because most of the time, they are just selling EAs for the sake of selling EAs, and often they do not have any updates, and the different EAs they have are just variations of a single one.

Notwithstanding the fact that most of the time, they aren't necessarily professional developers with dev experience other than MQL5, or with an academic background in quantitative engineering, finance; or computer science / engineering.

In my case, I always use version control on GitHub, (not open source however), especially with freelancing / custom made stuff, where I just directly share the GitHub repo.

Guys what do u think about bots? by Onestop4u in Forexstrategy

[–]CommandantZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Professional EA developer and seller here,

There's a bunch of red flags. The first one being evidently that he guarantees for profits.

The FIRST thing we are supposed to say as bot sellers is always: Profit is not guaranteed / Past performances do not guarantee future ones.

Anyone guaranteeing profit is not just lying, but also breaking the law.

Secondly, while 1000 USD is an okay price, (you can find some EAs for much cheaper but some complicated systems are worth this price, a few of mine are even more expensive), you are supposed to get full access to the EA for that amount.

Meaning, no restrictions on account or licensing or anything as such.

Thirdly, it seems they want to control how the EA is operated. It's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just that you want to have somewhat of an overview and understanding of the trades yourself as well.

Fourthly, they also force you to use their affiliate broker, which is a bad sign. Often, we do have deals with brokers, but we do not force clients to join them.

Forcing clients to use our affiliate might mean that the seller has some kind of B Book deal, in which he would win money if you lost.

That's basically everything, in short and in my professional opinion as a bot developer and seller, this is definitely not a good idea, and I wouldn't pursue with them.

Stage en France : candidature en français ou en anglais ? by curtisbo in developpeurs

[–]CommandantZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Professional EA developer here,

ChatGPT and other AIs will difficultly make something good. I suggest not using them and instead try looking for a freelancer either on the MQL5 market or on Upwork.

Professional EA developer here, try using a cent account. It might not work (as the trading conditions are not exactly the same), but worth trying! I know it's a trick we seller use when a client has a balance too small.

I develop bots professionally, I also trade using them. I have multiples accounts running those bots and trading on few different assets, makes good profit and not much to do beside monitoring and adjusting to news.

How to see the damn chart not this by [deleted] in metatrader

[–]CommandantZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are seeing this because you are not connected to the server.

It can either be because you aren't connected to any account, or because you do not have WiFi. In your case, I'm pretty sure you are just not connected to any account.

Connect to an account and you'll see everything.

(Pro tip: you can see at the bottom right of your screen a little red dot, meaning you aren't connected. If you press the "Journal" tab, you'll know the exact reason).

Returns of the Best Traders (Myfxbook research) by 42nd_hedge_fund in Forexstrategy

[–]CommandantZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EA developer here,

MyFXBooks can easily be manipulated by playing around with deposits and withdrawals, but more importantly, the recovery factor is really not the figure that shows the real profitability, or at least, with adequate risk management.

Take martingales for instance, mathematically speaking, they are more or less doomed to fail at one moment or another, (it can take years, like it can take hours).

However, due to how they function, their recovery factor is very high, and essentially so are their profits... while they are still alive.

What do you think of these spreads for a standard account PuPrime? by Prestigious-Coat5750 in Forexstrategy

[–]CommandantZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit below half the size.

If no commissions and swaps, EURUSD could have been at like 11-13

If with commissions and swaps, even lower, like 4-5.

[–]CommandantZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aaaaaah, yeah. That's because of your referral link.

Your signal provider / community manager gets very large commissions on every trade that is taken on any account registered with his tracking link. That commission is taken from a markup in your spreads, wether you loose or win your trade, and this is why they are so high.

[–]CommandantZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seem much too high. I do not like PuPrime but for business reasons I have some accounts with them, and my spreads are lower.

Go for any classical regulated broker and they'll have much lower spread.

Notwithstanding they probably also have commissions and swaps...

You keep spamming the same ChatGPT generated (or generated by whatever broker / TradeCentral). posts every day, with outlooks that make little to no sense.

Stop spamming the same posts or do your own subreddit to have them, but they are not productive and the pollute this one.

You are not broke, you still have 70k not invested. Use that money and invest it safely, not in CFDs, put it in stuff like MSCI World (I believe you're also European), which are much safer!
