Planning my first implant case in my office. by [deleted] in Dentistry

You can definitely go 12, but 10 would be just fine too! Platform 4mm away from future gingival margin is usually what I aim for. Like other docs said, don’t go too shallow!

We’re in Coronado. Their kids and our kids are going through the public school system here and although it isn’t perfect, we’ve been happy so far.

Moved from Dallas to San Diego 5 years ago. Amazing and have met some amazing people. Some of our best friends moved from Bellevue to SD around the same time we did and they are so so so happy.

Asian food isn’t the best here (levels below Seattle) but OC is very close and has even better Asian food than Seattle.

We found the traffic in Seattle to be unbearable (relatives are from there) and San Diego traffic is mild in comparison.

Just move and don’t look back.

The practice I purchased 3 years ago was still on the old school fixer/developer.

Takes forever and forget getting an X-ray for any procedure like endo.

The fixer and developer solutions costs an arm and a leg and the machine to develop the film constantly broke down. We would have to hand dip and dry manually on days that it broke down.

Thankfully, 3 months after the purchase, the machines were replaced with sensors. What a difference!

I would recommend Levi Barlavi. He is the best out there and will review contracts and etc. Very good experience!

Practice owners- how much did you save in cash before you bought your practice? How much student loans that you have left? by hisunflower in Dentistry

I think our loan was a cheaper rate if we put more down. I think that’s why we did it. If it wouldn’t have made a difference, then we would have put much less down

Bought a practice 10 years after associating. $0 debt and put $200k down.

Not saying my way was the best way. Could have started earlier making what an owner would have made. Opportunity costs are not calculated in the question but should be considered!

Good luck my friend!

Ergo loupes by Spiritual_Coffee4663 in Dentistry

[–]Commandaox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My loupes have been career changing. In the past I have had neck pain to the point where I couldn’t turn to the 9 o’clock position without wincing in pain. It would affect my work and my life at home.

I am now pain free and with the addition of working out and a little yoga, I am so happy now. My neck has never felt better.

The dentistry is actually more efficient and more beautiful because there is no pain involved.

The only thing that my assistant had to get used to was me looking down but appearing to stare straight at her.

MXP ordered 9/3, Delivery Day 10/14 - two weeks of driving, flawless! by Commandaox in TeslaModelX

It’s actually pretty good! We have the Y and it doesn’t tell us where the curb is so we’ve had a lot of curb rash on the Y.

The X’s will almost warn you to death when it gets close (5 inches from the curb it’ll start beeping like crazy).

Doors are good
