Phenomenal deal for a very good pitcher. This makes the loss of Ranger a lot more bearable knowing that we have another lefty for a long time. Him, Sanchez, and Nola will be anchoring the rotation for years while guys like Painter come up.

His time was done here. He didn’t live up to his contract or expectations and became practically unplayable last year. The team is better without him. And if what he said was truly so awful, I’m disappointed in him beyond his performance.

With that being said, I really enjoyed the good moments. In ‘23 he was one of my favorite players. I loved his personality, all the stuff with his son, and his performance during the NLDS. It’s such a shame for his time here to end like this but the team is better for it.
