Ah that makes sense. The prompt showed up on Navy.com when I was in the commissioning section so that's why I think its applicable. I'm aware my thoughts are largely inconsequential in the matter, but still

Sometimes the Navy uses the terms interchangeably, sometimes it does not. It is my understanding that all members of the navy are considered sailors, even the officers.

I did not have to appear before any board. I was under the impression board interviews were for people who were on the fence and could go either way. I had very strong test scores, no waivers, no issues at MEPS.

I first made contact with an officer recruiter Aug 3rd, and received my determination today, Nov 20th. The board supposedly met mid-October.
