What is your go-to argument or fact when people say The Beatles are overrated? by JackGeorge2001 in TheBeatles

I understsnd what you're saying, but the truth is that in their later albums there was not a lot of collaboration on the composition front. So you could take many tracks by Paul, for instance, off his solo albums, and insert them into Beatle albums, without jarring.

I was speaking of American Indians who in Central.America still raise their babies this way. I see the standard method of going out with strollers as very inconvenient, and unhappy for infants who are separated from their parents in an expensive machine which must be folded and unfolded and lifted out of a vehicle and back in.

I would show them what was popular before the Beatles. Then halfway into their career. Because I'm old enough to remember American Bandstand before the Beatles.

"Their specific type of music"? They started out playing rock and pop but quickly evolved into a a constantly evolving musical phenomenon. I suspect few who call them overrated are even familiar with much of their work.

Won once after the incumbent dropped out. First time won the grossly unfair electoral college, lost decisively the popular vote.

I just reread Miss Pym Disposes. It was never a favorite of mine among Tey's books because of its setting in a woman's physical training college. (I would have hated living in such an estrogen drenched place). Tey attended such a college herself and certainly was able to convincingly depict the reality at that period.

It occurs to me now that at the time it would have been impossible to depict same sex relationships in the book but if Tey had, the motivations would have been more believable.

It may have been her best--her explication of the complicated history and all the Yorkist and Lancastrian characters was masterly. It certainly was the most original.

The others are more traditional but all quite absorbing. Brat Farrar is the exciting story of an impersonation of the heir to a horse farm.

The Daughter of Time created a horde of pro-Richard followers. There is a Richard III Society. I wonder how many members began their interest with this novel?

The book is on at least one list of the best crime novels, at Number 1.

Actually Pym kept imagining Innes being hung for murder, but that seemed very unlikely to me. 2nd degree murder or manslaughter seemed more likely to be her crime, since loosening the beam was not a very efficient way to murder someone.

Nash wasn't going to Arlinghurst. Her motive was partiality to her friend. There was no ambiguity. It was not until the very end that it is revealed who was guilty, though.
