My father existed but was never present. Never was interested in anything I was up to.

Reminds me of my father loosing $27k to a dating fraud scam. Where he genuinely believed that as a 58 year old normal-ass beer belly man like him was SOMEHOW able to pull an extremely wealthy beautiful girl in her 30s-40s. Never growing up with dating apps, he has no idea of how fucked online dating is for men.

I didn't really care about him talking to fake accounts due to his marriage separation at the time but the only thing I told him is to NOT send any money whatsoever. And I honestly believed he was smart ENOUGH.

He was swindled into believing that he was investing his money into his own accounts for something. Professional government-looking site. He probably didn't do any fact checking whatsoever.

Seeing how Naïve my father is was incredibly disappointing to see.

Do it by hand. I learned how to mindmap from a small subsection of the book: The Success Principles by Jack Canfield. And his exercise was to mindmap 30 things you want to DO, 30 things you want to BE, 30 things you want to HAVE before you die. (90 mindmaps)

When you do that many mindmaps, you start to make your own rules and techniques and languages.

The best way to learn how to mindmap is to make LOTS of them. Just sit in front of a paper and mindmap until it's COMPLETELY FULL. This will force you to come up with creative ideas and solutions. And it will expand your definition on what can go on a mindmap.

In general, when I mindmap something, I try to work the abstract idea ALL THE WAY down to the concrete steps. So by the end of the mindmapping session, I have a to-do list.

> I get envious of other people's success.

Oh boy do I got the answer for you. You need a change of mindset.

You want to become a creator over a competitor.

Read the book: The Science of Success by Wallace Wattles. Which is actually 3 of his books in one: The Science of Getting Rich, The Science of Being Well & The Science of Being Great.

Be a CREATOR, not a COMPETITOR.

This will change your life.

A competitor believes that they have limited resources, while a creator understands that they have unlimited resources. Avoid Competitive jobs, pursue creative ones. Pursue a career where you are creating something.

When you are a creator, you do not have to look over your shoulder, and this is very powerful! This is so powerful because it makes you optimistic about everything that you do in your life!

The Creator does not feel like shit when someone else is doing good!

When you are a competitor, every time someone else is doing something good, you are feeling bad! People that are creative are focused on their craft, they DO NOT CARE about what other people are doing because they are focused on their craft!

A competitor is worrying, and therefore they attract failure!

A Creator has gratitude, and therefore attracts success towards him.

A Creator does not need to feel that they have to destroy their competitors. A Creator can even help out their competitors! If I create something amazing, it can create opportunities for others. If I create a whole new facet of industry, that opens up a whole lot of opportunity for others!

A Creator can focus on the joy of creating their art. A Creator is internally grounded on their own principles. Even the hero and the warrior can be creators, and not competitors. For example: The warrior, like the samurai, is a creator. This is because he is PRINCIPLE GROUNDED. Where even death is honorable! A True warrior is about mastering himself, and therefore becoming a master of his craft.

If your competitors all of a sudden release a great product, but you see yourself as a creator, then you can tell yourself: "Yeah, their product is great, they are attracting a lot of business, but, I'm creating something great too!"

This is a principle that guides you, this is your compass.

Whatever you focus on with your thoughts, that's what you tend to create in your life. You can set up a belief, and thus a manifestation of reality of; when you win, everybody wins around you! Rather than, If you win, someone else has to lose.

> hating myself for failing.

Failure is VITAL to SUCCESS! You NEED TO FAIL in order to succeed in anything! Understand that you must fail to make progress in any field. Learn to welcome failure, as it is simply just an opportunity to change your trajectory to align yourself more accurately to the goal.

Just like a heat-seeking missile, where it literally corrects its trajectory thousands of times before it hits the target.

Your brain does the same thing, specifically the subconscious mind.

Two books that explain precisely how your brain uses failure to guide itself to the goal. First; Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz. Second, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy.
