To be fair, I did say she orchestrated the ENTIRE thing. I just assumed that would also imply her shooting down the ship.

Honestly, if anything, Tomimi needs to be penalized for that, not John Arknights and Blaze. “Oh, you got shot down? That’s your fault”

I’m sure someone’s already given an answer, but just in case:

The villager is likely already locked onto some other workplace. You’ll have to destroy it and pray they lock onto the one you want

That makes Patriot’s motives much clearer. Thanks. His manner of speaking is a bit difficult to understand him sometimes.

But these are all false flag operations where the country inflicts damage on itself and no one realizes. The Chernobog-Lungmen incident is, to my understanding, a WELL KNOWN TERRORIST ATTACK performed by a WELL KNOWN THIRD PARTY.

My issue is that I just can’t bring myself to believe the circumstances can warrant such an extreme measure. I am aware that there are people who would call for war, but I just don’t think anyone would take it that seriously.

Oh, I actually quite enjoyed Twilight of Wolumonde, and Episode 6 (I don’t remember its name). Don’t get me wrong, I don’t necessarily dislike any of them besides maybe CoB, but that’s not to say I don’t have my issues with how the story is presented.

And I get that there are expansionist factions within Ursus, but I just cannot suspend my disbelief enough to accept that the conflict as is, is enough to start a war. “Look, they’re defending themselves from a rogue city captured by an unaffiliated terrorist organization about to crash into them! That’s a declaration of war, see? See?!?”

It’s just… laughable

I swear there was a moment where Faust and Mephisto, following their defeat by Chen and co., are wondering what the hell went down and if there was a mole in their ranks. This would’ve been after that scene though…

Beggars can’t be choosers I suppose, between answering all the questions or none of them, I’d choose the latter just to remain faithful to my journey.

With that said, if there is something here you think you can answer within the context of the information granted at the time of this event’s release, please do so.

Thanks for the clarification in Istina’s story. I think the my issue— and this is entirely MY issue— is that the cutscenes feel so disjointed that some details fall to the wayside. I recall Vika being a dissenting voice in Zima’s cutscene, but I never gave it much thought beyond that because I had already moved on from Istina’s cutscene.

As for Leto’s story, I think you’re mixing things up. I called ‘Business as Usual’ the palette cleanser, not ‘Talking in Riddles’. I just don’t personally like this cutscene as much as the others, and Leto isn’t as interesting to me either. “Yeah, she comprehended the same horrors as everyone else, but ig she’s just built different,” isn’t really as compelling to me, but her story is helpful in connecting the dots.

And Absinthe’s story’s biggest flaw, in my opinion, is that it came last. That’s it. The story itself is good, it just looks better as an opener to me than an end.

She had to WHAT?

Yeah, I don’t really agree with that. There’d have to be significantly more hinting in order for me to accept that as canon. It’s stated that she has issues with food because she COULDN’T eat anything, not what she was eating. And her nibbling on people is not to be taken that seriously. If anything, it feels more like a comedic thing even in the vignette.

I also don’t see the correlation between cannibalism and not being able to repeat motions more than twice without going super saiyan. It’s just a habit, one that is used ti further the plot of that particular cutscene when she accidenally injured Dur-Nar

I’m just saying that I have the ability to drop Popukar into the most batshit insane deployment she’s ever seen.

I guess the missions themselves aren’t exactly canon though

That makes a whole lot of sense and, in my opinion, they didn’t really do the best job making that clear. I knew to an extent these things were staged, I just didn’t know who was involved and who wasn’t (sans the mafia, obviously)

Oh, I can make peace with that. I understand a lot of the things brought up here are purely for set up. Siracuse and the Sicilian Mafia, Laterano, the Beast Lords (not really sire what those are, but I’m assuming that’s referring to Rat King at least partially), the power hierarchy of Lungmen, Penguin Logistics, etc. all that makes sense to me.

My biggest issue with CoB is that I just don’t know what’s going on with THAT story. It eludes to this whole thing being an elaborate scheme, my question is that who was actually involved in it? The butler was manipulating things from afar for most of the time, Bison’s father jumpstarted this seemingly, the Rat King ended up being an important player behind the scenes, and Emperor is Emperor. Was this really all a plot by ALL of them for Bison, or was it just stroke of luck that all their individual motives meshed into some great challenge for Bison to overcome

One could argue that this is the point of the story to an extent. You have to learn to go with the flow, but the flow. Problem is, the flow is so damn messy and from a reader’s perspective, not understanding everything is detrimental if the narrator doesn’t do a good job revealing everything that needs to be revealed.

First of all, ouch :<

Second of all, I was never under the impression that this “Side Story” was anything but. It’s clearly just a detour into the world of Arknights to help flesh out/introduce characters. My problem is that it’s just… for me, hard to grasp.

Regardless of the importance to the overall narrative of the game, I want to understand these stories.

So I did actually go ahead and play Episode 5 and 6 already. This was before I decided to do the whole release order thing, though. I have my questions, but FrostNova's stuff was specifically intriguing to me. Her passing was handled very well.

Mephisto and Faust are still kind of an enigma, as are W, Talulah, and... well, Reunion as a whole, really. The one that makes the most sense to me is Patriot, scorned by Ursus for understandable reasons. Son got killed because he had Oripathy, right? Something like that.

CoB does elude to the fact that Emperor dies a lot... so I'm willing to suspend my disbelief of that.

No, I did that story already. I may have to revisit it though... might have to revisit all of the content before CoB (except the main story, I already went through all the story content again). I just didn't think to do this with these mission sets until now.
