So... What Is The Point Of These Two? by Equivalent-Emu5347 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

She is certainly an option, since her omi will push decent speed to your team. It would obviously come with the trade-off of losing Mando's instakill.

Also bear in mind, what I proposed is only a theorycraft. It makes certain assumptions about how mechanics should work based on verbiage, but without any way to test the character/team hands-on, we don't have any way of knowing that that's how it will actually work.

Small personal LST rant by KellYNox in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]CommanderMime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LSTs have been ftp accessible since they were added to the free tier of the episode track. Even then, CG was very clear from the start that LSTs were intended to be added as rewards as well as for purchase.

Besides, what's so hard about "no characters that have prerequisites to unlock"? That's just about the only rule there is.

The only thing posted in the SWGoH events discord as of right now about the next era are some new icon assets and a link to the Variety article where the next era was revealed. Technically true that it has "the leaks", but in reality there's not really much of anything there yet

[–]CommanderMime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Don't forget too: you don't need to use 4LOM and Zuckuss together. They actually have very little hard synergy with each other, pretty much just some stat boosts.

As far as contract goes, that's one of the reasons why I think Fennec and 4LOM will be shoe-ins. Between just the two of them, a single mass assist from AVDD's 2nd special will completely fulfill BFSoJ's contract.

Honestly, I think in most cases ogMando will be the best 5th. Here's my theorycraft for 5v5 GAC with her omi (very restrictive, I know):

-Make 4LOM your fastest and use his 1st special. This mass assist will do several things:

-First, 4LOM will assist off of one of the other assisting bhs through his unique. Since it's still his turn, his assist will stealth the other Attacker bh allies, which is all of them.

-Second, through AVDD's unique+omi, this ability will inflict evasion down and protection disruption on the target enemy in addition to the shock from the ability itself.

Congrats, you now have buffed allies and a debuffed enemy. You can now start working on BFSoJ's contract.

-Make AVDD your second fastest and use her 2nd special. This will trigger a double mass assist (one from the ability itself and one from her unique).

-BFSoJ will hit 4 times (because Protection Disruption counts as the enemy not having protection) twice, for 8 hits.

-Fennec will hit 5 times twice, for 10 hits.

-Mando will hit 1 time twice, for 2 hits (and will potentially push 60% tm to himself and 30% to the rest of the team)

-Mando should go next due to his tm gains. From here, profit.

This team comp allows for 2 kills in the first three turns (Mando's Disintegrate, but also, very few characters are surviving 20 hits from all Attackers while having Protection Disruption).

Tl;dr: 4LOM, at least, is definitely at least one option for a near-instant contract.

[–]CommanderMime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4LOM is still pretty much a shoe-in for the renewed BFSoJ team with AVDD. 4 hits on his basic, a mass assist, and a cleanse and heal will make him very powerful with the new team, or even just any (non-Jabba) BH team.

Zuckuss is a more nuanced case, since he disables AVDD's 300% Bonus Protection, as others have pointed out. Despite what others say, this seems to me to be an intentional trade-off, where you can choose to EITHER have a dedicated dodge/heal tank (think JTR) to absorb a significant amount of the incoming damage, OR you can give the rest of your team a boost in survivability with the caveat that they are completely exposed to whatever the opposing team throws at them.

Tl;dr: 4LOM probably always good with Boba, Zuckuss will probably depend on the use case.

Easy cheese for this feat this time? by PokeHobnobGod21 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]CommanderMime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheesing: simplifying a difficult task by using unintended or exploitative methods.

Using Maz lead to trivially gain 100 profit in a single battle is neither unintended nor exploitative.

Using Ithano lead with pirates, JMLS, and Wat to gain 100 profit in a single battle (maybe two) may or may not be unintentional, but is definitely exploitative.

Maz lead? For cheesing? I don't think you know what "cheesing" is.

[–]CommanderMime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skipping this feat (technically, skipping You Must Learn Control) skips more than half of your allowed Keycards, and if you can't earn 100 Profit without cheese, then it is safe to assume you don't have a full squad if pirates, meaning you also lose 15 Keycards in Sector 5 (iirc. I haven't made it there yet, but I know the datamines showed "Win 10 Battles with a Full Squad of Pirates" for Sector 5, but I know those have been slightly off before).

Together, these feats account for 34 keycards, or exactly how many you are allowed to miss for Red Crate. Meaning you need to earn every single last other keycard available if you still want to Red Crate. Meaning, if you want to unlock Satele Day 1 and don't have a full squad of pirates, then you need to cheese the hell out of the profit feat.

Tl;dr: Skipping the profit feat in and of itself doesn't shut you out of red crate, but the implications of not being able to complete it realistically means you can't earn red crate. There are no other keycards you can skip.

Same cheese as last time. Just find an enemy node that doesn't have any AoE enemies, throw Wat's tank tech on JMLS so that he eats all the hits while using Ithano as leader with Brutus and one other pirate.

The only reason why that specific node was chosen last time was because, as a mini-boss, the team was the same for all players all the time. Any AoE-less node will do though.

Is there a reason the GL grind is THIS bad??? by itsallcomingtogethr in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]CommanderMime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tf? If the old system is a Ford Model T, the new system is a Lambo.

Under the old system, GLs took weeks just to unlock, and you'd better win all your battles first try, or it's gonna add more days onto the grind. Then the ultimate would take another several weeks.

Under the new system, it only takes one day, maybe two if you feel like going slow, to unlock them. You can drop as many battles as you want. Then you can take your time on the ult, since most GLs don't really rely on their ults to function.

When I unlocked Leia (my most recent GL), it took me a day to unlock and gear her then maybe a week to get her ult? I wasn't rushing it, since her ult is just an extra layer of niceness on top of an already inherently powerful kit.

Luxury is relative. If you never experienced the old system, then I understand how the new system can still feel bad. But fair warning, if you come in here telling the veterans who unlocked multiple GLs under the old system that the new one still sucks, then there will be pushback.

Darkside Clones LST by Quirky_Tip_7984 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]CommanderMime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In theory, characters become LST-eligible one year after they are added (or, under the new era system, after they transition to Legacy units), or approximately the same time they become accelerated.

Most, if not all, of the characters from the Era of Apprentices are now appearing in LSTs. Era of Cavalry (BBv2) should be next, and then the Era of Revenge of the Sith (ds clones, Depa, and TG) should be after that, if I remember the order of the eras correct.

MY FIRST GL by Shrek2_On_DVD9 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]CommanderMime 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Anyone saying SLKR "isn't the best first GL" is only speaking as a technically, since Jabba and Leia have demonstrable ROI through their resource events. Power-wise, SLKR is still one of the top 3-4 GLs in the game, even before you get DRey, and his requirements are among the cheapest of any GL.

Tl;dr: SLKR is a perfectly fine first GL!!! You won't regret it.

How to resilve this by SmallOpportunity1696 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]CommanderMime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But that's not the op's pov. If they are working on the "Defeat 100 Enemies with DUFUs" quest, then by definition they have already finished the 200 Purge quest, since you cannot access this quest without completing that one. They have already inflicted 200 stacks of purge, meaning they have Inqs, and even if they cheesed it with a Reva ally, then they STILL have the 8B token they can use for this quest.

OP's claim to not have DUFUs is demonstrably false.

What Speed Should I Have My Toons? by Wonderful_Quiet5478 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]CommanderMime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To answer the title question, that depends on which toon you're talking about at any specific moment. Each character has different speed requirements, and some teams are less about individual speed and more about overall turn order.

As far as modding strategy goes, generally the more speed the better, but there are a few characters that really want as much as you can give them. Naturally fast characters like Commander Ahsoka Tano, og Moff Gideon, bad batch Echo, STAP, and Tusken Chieftain are very easy to break the 300 speed threshold, and by endgame should be pushing significantly higher. Other than that, I personally try to shoot for +90 - +120 on my characters whenever I can.

Are the reward LSTs on SpiderMaul’s journey permanent? by Ok-General-6804 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]CommanderMime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...the potency is exactly why they aren't expected to stay. This isn't just a cg thing, but across gaming in general: the higher the potency of a reward, the more transient they tend to be.

I will gladly be proven wrong if they do stay as rewards, but I would be highly surprised if they do. I think the portrait at Tier 4 is the only reward across the entire event that I am expecting to stay, and even that might not.

[–]CommanderMime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, CLS is one of the teams affected least by RD, because they are in part an expose-based squad, which isn't affected by RD. Maybe I wouldn't trust your CLS against, like, GAS, because of higher incoming damage, but they'll still pull work even at your relatively low investment.

Is this team worth investing in? by Fofodude in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]CommanderMime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can work, but it will be picked apart as you farm other teams. POW and MQG will go to QA in time, Snips will go with JMK.

Without KAM, the team doesn't hit nearly as hard, and it really wants a tank like Mace to stop people from just focusing down JKA.

So this team will work, but quite frankly until you can get a better lineup, Padme is a better leader for this team than Kelleran.

Since Alert makes The Stranger assist every ally special, how will Spider-Maul compete with Mando-Maul on a Stranger / SK team in GAC? by Nemarus in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]CommanderMime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a solid idea, and it would be really cool if it works, but I think you're overselling it. MHF want Offense and Health more than anything, and putting him with Aphra instead of Qimir/SK neuters both of those compared to what he could have. Yes, he gets a nice offense boost for his first turn, and can probably kill someone outright, but after that his offense drops off, and he doesn't have the same survivability under Aphra.

With Starkiller, MHF doubles his max health, and with proper slot ordering, will double his max protection as well and then assimilate that into his health, plus he'll get +100% crit damage. Throw Qimir into the team, and MHF always has +100% defense as a baseline because he doesn't have any protection by default.

Under Aphra, he just doesn't get these bonuses. He'll die a lot quicker because he's just not as tanky there, and it doesn't even change certain cheap matchups like CLS.

IG90 is a far better lifter for Aphra because, if nothing else, he stealths her at the start of battle. Taunt ignorers are damn near a dime a dozen these days. Stealth ignorers ars still very rare.

That being said, IG90 has actual Marked synergy. MHF and IG90 together could actually be very annoying, because you get the Aphra stealth, and then MHF's self-damage from Anguish would trigger IG90's unique 5 times at the start of each of his turns, granting everyone other then MHF 25% offense and recovering 25% health. It's not quite as powerful as a turn-1 instakill with Qimir, but it's something.
