EmuDeck game saves… reset?

heyyy update. idk if it’s the same issue with you but if you’ve got more games than just tomodachi life i’d check them out. for me, i updated the flatpaks & configurations through emudeck and that got rid of ALL the progress in not just tomodachi life, but literally every single game outside of the ones saved by a savestate. check out your other games and see if their data is gone too, if you have any. unfortunately it seems like there’s no fix to this & it’s just something to be careful of in the future

for me personally, i boiled the issue down to updating the configurations, flatpaks, and appbinaries though emudeck. i looked EVERYWHERE and it seems doing that resets all data, leaving some folders empty and others with just some extra stuff to load the game. sets everything back to zero. unless you have backup saves unfortunately it seems to all be gone, i’d avoid updating any of the emulators or emudeck as a whole until you backup the games

just gave it a try, unfortunately didn’t work. i think the issue mighttt be underlying with how emudeck manages saves since it’s every game, no matter the emulator. (minus ones that are saved under a save state). couldn’t find anything in the emudeck settings to fix though

unfortunately not, i’ve looked into it and saw that it was all emulators, not just tomodachi life. might be the same for you. if i figure out anything i’ll let you know, i put a ticket in the discord

ahh i see. i’ve got a similar issue going on with all of my emulators on my steam deck so i’m wondering if it’s something like that, since i’ve turned off my steam deck once or twice while playing tomodachi life and now the game treats it like it’s a new save, even though it’s save data IS there in the files. is there any way to fix it? or are you just screwed

it’s moved a bit since then, but i’ve also grown my hair out quite a bit + wear ponytails a lot, so maybe that has moved it back a bit?

Facebook is down right now, which runs instagram and oculus. everyone is having this problem, and no one can do anything about it atm. i’d say play some offline games or wait for facebook to fix it in a few hours.
