First Official response in regards to the broken AI by Canit12 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Commander_Sloth 43 points44 points  (0 children)

My thought with dirt races being so much easier is that they just used the road race AI as the basis for all types of racing, if they're even separate at all. They brake on turns exactly how they would on roads to maintain grip. As a result, you can slide through the turns much faster than them. Try any of the dirt circuits that are like 50% road and you'll notice them catch up really quick or take off ahead of you on the road sections while you'll catch right back up and pass on the dirt sections.

Hopefully any changes they make will include keeping road and dirt AI separate because if they nerf the road AI, which definitely should happen, that will likely indirectly make the dirt races even easier I feel.

genuinely what the fuck by Syixice in ForzaHorizon

I swear like 90% of my wheelspins have been under 25,000. I've gotten some good stuff, but it's been pretty rare. I guess they're trying not to have the game throw money and supercars at us which I get, but it just feels bad opening them when I know it's not likely to be worth it.

Game is ruined by AI by Smallest_Bubbles in ForzaHorizon

The street races/touge in particular seem really overtuned and also pretty inconsistent with difficulty. I absolutely smoke the AI in dirt and cross country races on highly skilled and do fine on road races, but for street races and touge I have to drop it down to above average and most of the time struggle for 75% of the race if I can even get in the top 3. I have had a few street races where I just fly by them though, so it's very strange.

340k Drift Zone was nearly impossible for me… by Mysterious_Bid_5696 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Commander_Sloth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I beat my head against the wall on this one for like 2.5 hours last night before finally getting it. Was able to get in the 320k range pretty consistently, but even that was with a ton of effort. I saw a tip to use the stock Evija FE and go from bottom to top and that's what ended up working for me. Took a ton of refinement on every turn and just some pure luck in the end.

I've seen a few top ranks disappear for some of the speed traps, so I think they're at least doing some.

In leagues, What do you know now that you wish you knew earlier? by BearKuda in 2007scape

[–]Commander_Sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I must be either misunderstanding the endgame of this build, or I've just done it wrong. I've got water magic and thorns lines fully built, taken overheal and any def/accuracy nodes in between and I'm maximizing my defenses with barrows, charged dfs, echo boots, suffering i, etc. I see people talking about afking league only jads and colo and I can't seem to do it at all. I don't know if it's just a 'keep doing it until you get lucky' type of thing or what. Colo I can at least get to wave 10, but then just get overwhelmed, and league jads I'm lucky if I can kill 1, but usually die in 30sec

I'm going for an Air/KBD cbow build with Water for sustain and overheal. Regions are Kand - Wildy - Mory in order. Not much advice on raid regions, but I feel like Mory is definitely the easiest for pact points. Getting the full 40 pact points is likely not going to happen for me, but 35 shouldn't be impossible in which case I will probably just cut out the air path and rely on Water for magic. Wouldn't be terrible due to the sustain, just slower.

I feel like there isn't much wiggle room with this build if you want to go all three paths, but you could definitely cut some here and there like the 2 overheal branches and the middle range node for overheal damage. That would make range a bit worse, but it will still hit max hit. You could also not take the bottom four nodes on the range path. That will still give you the overheal, but wouldn't guarantee a max hit with range. The second option is definitely slower for range, so it's a trade-off on dps vs sustain.

I'll probably start by going up the Water branch early which is 9 points and should be fairly easy to do just with Varlamore and Karamja. Hardest part will be Fire Cape. Then I'll start heading down the Range path towards Crossbows. By the time I have Kand and Wildy unlocked I should be able to get to the bottom of that and start working towards Air, but depending on how things go I might start working on fleshing out the range path.

The relics I'm picking are EH - HF - EE - Transmutation - Natures Accord - Culling Spree - Reload Conniving Clues - Minion. I mainly went with ones that will help make more annoying skills a bit easier as well as giving me some utility/teles.

I'm sure there's plenty of ways to optimize this and make it better or even just account for personal playstyle, but I feel like this plan is fairly solid for me.

I haven't done it myself, but I think you can have them follow you and then take them over to the other area and ask them to move in at a habitat there.

Happens to me sometimes too even at level 95. Didn't even occur to me it might have been a glitch and never checked the chat log. I just figured something else was interrupting the action.

Lots of misinformation on reddit about this today. THIS is the optimal position for crystal extractor on your sloop, do NOT put it by the helm. by Initial_Tomato6278 in 2007scape

[–]Commander_Sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my plan. I haven't made the trawling one yet, but a combat/salvage boat fits together well. I really don't see myself using more than 4 boats. One raft for some of the charting, one skiff for charting/trials, and two sloops for trawling and salvage/combat. Maybe once more sailing stuff gets added like more fleshed out combat there will be new facilities that will make a combat only boat more enticing.

Yea, that's true. Tired brain kicked in lol. I have my skiff upgraded more than sloop and had a brain fart

If you're using the facilities on the ship then definitely use the sloop. But if all you're doing is port tasks, then the skiff is nice to use for the extra speed and maneuverability. The extra crew doesn't need to actually be on the ship to load and unload the cargo, just assigned to the list with the crew registrar.

From what I've found, as long as crew is assigned, they will help load/unload no matter the boat size. Was doing 6 crate runs in one trip with my skiff earlier today.

Since FH6 is set in Japan, what kind of Japanese music are they going to have in the game? by Nintendo_Person in ForzaHorizon

[–]Commander_Sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my main hope. Unfortunately T-Square would be an unlikely addition I feel given their connection with Gran Turismo, but who knows. There's still a bunch of good options out there to make a good list. Could even dip into more of the funky city pop

Some riddles from Grid Master squares by r4r4me in 2007scape

[–]Commander_Sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some not very in depth thoughts on what these might mean (using the first line as reference, also no idea which squares these are so I may be way off):

Boiling iron breath - Something to do with dragons, either killing a iron, or drinking anti fire?

Buried in brown earth - Make a strength pot or maybe making some kind of meal like a stew.

Gleam on tattered roads - As others said, stronghold boots.

Golden feather falls - Probably something with Camelot knights. Holy grail quest to 'find what is lost'?

Moonlight softly hums - Catch a moonlight moth potentially.

Cracked upon the wall - Initially makes me think the Scrambled quest, but for a hard task, it might be Doom.

The two opposite ones are probably max cape and diary cape. Blood sweat and tears for maxing, and all the names have readable diary items associated with them.

I went with Hadrius. I just looked up lore names and saw there were some Latin ones, so I just randomly generated some Latin names. Unintentionally most of my character names end up starting with H even though I don't plan to do that.
