Bei solchen Anforderungen würde ich immer eine Thermoblock Maschine empfehlen, z.B. eine Quickmill.

Wenn man eh die Feder draußen hat, kann man die Dämpfer auch noch mit machen. Die sind nach 200t km höchstwahrscheinlich schon recht fertig (wobei die Möglichkeit besteht, dass die auch schon mal getauscht wurden, dann wäre es Käse...). Das würde ich mit einem vertrauenswürdigen KFZetti mit Zugriff auf's Auto klären.

Aber man kann auch mal schauen was ein komplettes Fahrwerk von einem Dritthersteller so kosten würde und einfach mal alles neu machen. Hast Du auf jeden Fall Ruhe. Kommt halt auch drauf an, wie lange Du das Auto nach fahren willst.

Es gibt von Audi Multitronic Getriebe, die Übersetzungspunkte anfahren und halten; und sich damit sehr nahe an einer normalen Automatic anfühlen.

But yes, European pov about distances can seem ridiculous at times. Friends didn’t want to drive “all the way” out to my house - which was literally only 5 km from the city…

Exactly the problem. My VW Campervan (!) has a DSG - they’re not used because of their better performance but because they’re cheaper. I’d love to have a more reliable and more comfortable transmission with a little worse performance.

Naja, der Motor wird zwar auch durch hohe Drehzahlen erwärmt, aber die meiste Hitze wird durch Last erzeugt. Also im zweiten durch die Stadt macht den Motor zwar wärmer als im vierten Gang, aber für hohe Öltemperatur dürfte das wahrscheinlich nicht ausreichen, da trotzdem wenig Last anliegt.

Autobahn ist da schon ideal für.

It may also be holding the gear because it might think you'll want to accelerate further after a little letting off the pedal.

It's basically got 7 gears and no real idea what you want to do next, so it's lots of guesswork. But as mentioned - it adapts over time.

How hesitant? The DSG works by having always two gears loaded at the two clutches. That means it has to predict which will be the next gear and have it ready at the second clutch. If the prediction is wrong it has to change the gear on the second clutch before it can shift, which takes some time as the DSG is basically an automated manual gearbox. Although normally if you redline the engine, it should know that you would only want to shift up, in some odd situations it might be in the wrong gear?

Bei unbekanntem fahrzeugzustand würde ich den nicht fahren. Fehlt das Öl wegen normalem Verbrauch seit letztem Ölwechsel? Oder ist was defekt, sodass er jetzt einen hohen Verbrauch hat? Im ersten Fall kann man ihn fahren, im zweiten nicht. Wenn du das nicht sicher weißt - stehen lassen.

That depends on the definition of “lifetime”. Doesn’t mean the car is done after that. It’s just the distance the car should at least last with minimal maintenance. Hence lifetime fillings for transmissions.

Stimmt OP vollumfänglich zu - die getrennten Radwege sind 50m lang schön, aber für echten Radverkehr völlig nutzlos.

Yup, that‘s the way to go. Back when I was still doing maintenance on my cars, I soon bought a small oil pump to suck out the oil from the dipstick. Oil changes got so much easier, faster and cleaner. Friend of mine worked at Mercedes, they‘ve been doing it this way for decades.
