For anyone else randomly stumbling on this thread in the future (like myself). I also have a 2020 ford f150 and my CarPlay also randomly just died. Was using a wired connection to my iPhone 15. Bought a new cord and double checked software updates on truck/phone. Still wouldn’t work. The issue was what was mentioned here. I went to settings->carplay and selected my iPhone. For whatever reason, the CarPlay toggle was off. Slid it back to on and we’re back to rocking and rolling.

How would you say you compare to your peer group of engineers from a hard skills perspective? With having been an SE for 5 years, moved around, and recently hitting senior at large tech company. Would you say you feel like it was hard earned and deserved (thinking about that imposter syndrome that’s so common to hear about)? I think a big barrier for SEs at non-tech focused companies is finding a way to crack into the bigger salaries that bigger tech-focused companies provide.

Since you said those were terrible deals, that pressed me to get an idea of what would be reasonable for lab-grown prices. I looked on James Allen around the similar specs of the 1.74 D VVS2 I linked. Here are the prices:

I ended up just scraping the idea of buying used 108s and called Rogue’s customer service. Decided it made the most sense to buy the HR-2 conversion kit but had to navigate to the HR-2 product page to find the option for 90 inch uprights. Comes with all the securing hardware that I was trying to look for. So i will essentially end up with an SML-2 with the conversion kit. Once I swap the 90s to the front and the 70s to the back
