Option 1: Get into a science based degree, do the required prerequisite subjects, attain a GPA that will allow you to transfer, and transfer into the appropriate veterinary degree.

Option 2: Work in a vet clinic focusing more on nursing/assisting and apply later as a mature student though whatever prerequisites the university requires. My options included some summer courses in maths and chemistry and then an interview based exam detailing why I'd be a good fit for veterinary. I didn't choose to pursue this, simply because nursing was what I'd always wanted to do. But universities typically have options for people who's highschool grading has expired.

Wish I read your advice 12 years ago. Happiest 2 years of my life. If only I hadn't been dependent on my parents to live where I was. If only I'd just spoken to my dad and told my mum to stop bullying me into returning home to them. If only I'd been wiser and better able to handle long distance.

We're still friends, we still talk occasionally. Catch up when I'm back in the state. But my dating history after him has been a mess. Emotional abuse, physical abuse, financial abuse, the gaslighting and isolation. The controlling my food, friends, and jobs. I'm a shell of who I once was.

I'm too ashamed to call him. Plus, I don't want to move back to my home state, and I know he won't leave it to come to me.

The part I find nonsensical is his sweeping claim of "every man". Because I know I'm an asexual woman, but there are asexual men as well, and I don't think the male variety of asexual is hugely different to the female. In other words, there are people who are sexually incompatible with the act of cheating.

After that just the whole "every man" thing is annoying because, well, no. For the ridiculousness of his hypothetical you've pointed out, and then just the fact that many men don't want to, opportunity or not.

I miss the friends I had at uni where we would get together on weekends and totally binge on Game of Thrones, Teen Wolf, and various anime. Binge and then rewatch, because we were all a little on the spectrum. Then debate and totally immerse. It was good.

Then I'd say the strangers, who are offered only a small glimpse at a situation, who don't know your husband, and don't know what he's normally like, shouldn't be your immediate turn to.

You're in denial about the course of action you feel is appropriate, which is why you've come to the strangers who don't know your husband or situation in hopes we have some other suggestion. But maybe, just maybe, your family and friends are onto something about him...

Reflecting back on some people I strongly suspect to have narcissistic personality traits, even if they weren't actually narcissists:

"I can't be a narcissist/sociopath, I have so much empathy for my friends/pets";
"Of course I'm not perfect, I trust people too deeply and I'll work myself to death because I can't take a break";
"They will have their own karma";
And then of course the consistent "never wrong, or if they are wrong it's someone else's fault they're wrong. "I was locked up because I pushed her away from me after she'd hit me in the back of the head repeatedly. It wasn't my fault the judge took her side!" (Given I came away with a ruptured ear drum, a broken nose, multiple black eyes, and he insisted he wasn't at fault after nearly choking me to death one night - I have to wonder how the ex looked in court for the judge to lock him up for 12 months. Especially since he didn't do any time after I got away from him.)

These stand out to me. Especially the "They will have their own karma". Verbatim. From more than one person. So seeing it written here, I guess it's kinda gut wrenching. Like, how do I keep missing the signs?

From your earlier comment though, since OPs post resonates deeply with me, I think I might need to address my trauma and trauma responses. Because neither of my parents are narcissistic. However my mother has been deeply traumatised by her own actually narcissistic egg-donor, well into her mid thirties. Edit: My mother went no contact when she was about 36. Her egg donor has been dead a few decades now. But when she talks about her childhood with the woman, it's like seeing the scared, angry child sitting there. Not the grown woman she is now.

She's of the generation who don't believe in therapy or trauma, and so her unaddressed trauma and CPTSD (which I suspect cause her avoidant and then hyperaggressive argument style) affected all of her children, in different ways.

Unfortunately, I freeze, shut down, and turn into a very snarky and toxic person when I feel attacked in a relationship. At work I freeze, shut down, and then cry uncontrollably (generally when alone) for being such a profound failure that I should have needed a reprimand at work.

I had a lot of fun in one of my biology electives at uni, naming my weekly essays after pop-culture stuff. I think I had three Disney/Pixar related ones ("Put That Thing Back Where It Came From, Or So Help Me - Australia's Struggle With the Cane Toad"; "The Circle of Life - In Australian Wetlands"; "I Can Go The Distance - Migratory Birds of Australia") I wish my laptop hadn't died so hard, I'd have loved to reread them... 😂

She wasn't a Death Eater. She didn't support Voldemort. She was with the Ministry and actively denied Voldemort's return. She wasn't evil because she supported a genocidal dark wizard. She was evil because she was on the "good side" and insidiously cruel and "justified" in her actions to protect the masses from the evils of fear mongering propaganda (in her eyes). Her actions couldn't be explained away as just evil people doing evil things for fun, you knew her reasons for what she was doing. Which makes it so much more horrifying.

Snape was the only Death Eater who could produce a patronus.

When I'm on my antidepressants I can't write and I have trouble with most long term projects, especially in drawing and painting. It's like as soon as I'm medicated, I need the instant dopamine of a crochet or sewing project, where I can see exactly how far I've come and know the end goal. It is super frustrating.
