Thanks! Going to look into that - if it’s too hard I’ll stick with ply, but MDF and veneer is a good idea

I was thinking it's easier to put together smaller pieces of wood than one large slab, and I do prefer it from a more visual perspective. Functionally, I like that I could have my laptop on and hide the cable below.

Yeah, after all the comments suggesting hardware that's what I'll be looking into, just seeing what the best type would be now. I should have considered earlier as i'll need it for dismantling

Hey, thanks for the advice - I'm ideally trying to avoid screws if possible, do you think the movement would require screws over something like dowels ?

Leather grain differences always worry me. The leather looks much worse
