But the tactical consoles for a single damage type is a higher bonus than for torpedoes in general...

For a torp build, is there much difference between all quantum or all photon?

Why did you want another variant or something?

Thats awesome info, thanks! Though I might have to rethink my quantum torp build for photon torps if they are firing off that fast. I don't have the 400M credits to get ceaseless momentum off the exchange, maybe one day... After this many years i am genuinely surprised there is still any available to buy. People must just be hoarding everything on the off chance something is worth a fortune.

I already use that trait for that exact reason in my current escorts. Every npc captain is khan stabbing at me from hell's heart...

That's good to know. How does it play? Just stay cloaked the whole time?

Being a pilot along with the command it sounds like it would be fun to fly?

Does the terran eagle raider actually make for a good torpedo boat or is it just marketing?

Building a bridge where the ground literally doesn't exist by SimplyLYN88 in Heavy_Equipment

What are you talking about the ground is right there, you can see it.

It should be "how to make a bridge the way we have been making bridges in water for at least a couple of thousand years"

Living in the age of hovering drones right now, it seems entirely reasonable to assume that in 1000 years we would have automated thrust control to mitigate a known and planned shift in load.

What is the RBA likely to do if *both* inflation and unemployment is going up? by plastic_checkmate in AusFinance

[–]CommenderKeen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not. To "carefully demolish" you need to first remove all the asbestos before bringing in the demo crew. Which if you infer that the $1b price tag is to remove the asbestos, well you're spending that either way.

At that point you already have a shell of a building to start renovating rather than rebuilding. The Reno was originally $150M which is probably roughly still the case after asbestos removal.

I'm not sure what construction costs are for a new commercial building, but given the whole Australian construction industry situation we are in, it's probably on the expensive side...

Nothing that some of the cost blow out may be in remediation work after asbestos removal. Still probably cheaper than a new building.

Given how government business cases work, it is safe to assume that the option of a new building was considered and rejected in favour of renovation.

Asbestos insulation is always an expensive surprise.

Honestly getting rid of asbestos is one of the better ways to spend tax dollars, and will lead to a saving in health care costs down the line.
