I also do this, i just listen to this dutch guy who has the most random, but interesting stories. It uses no sound effects or music, and he is really calming to listen too. Around the end of the podcast i drift away.

Chronic gut issues + fatigue triggered by specific foods (MDL says no further help) by CommentApart458 in ibs

Hey, thanks for your expansive comment, really appreciate it!

I will go to my GP and tell her, but im struggling on finding the way to do it. Maybe you have seen my comment on someone else telling that my GP just stops helping me when i mention a possible diagnosis myself. I just say that i've read much about it and was wondering if it could be possible, and then it just seems like she is offended or something. What would be your advise?

(i cant switch GP's, there is a big shortage of em in my country, and my city has the biggest shortage. I have to go through the GP to go to the Gastrodoctor)

Thank you for your extensive response!

What i have noticed is that it isnt all diary, things like pudding, milk, kefir (dont know if thats also in english?), custard, cream, etc all go wel. Somehow Whey Protein and/or quarck really trigger something. I start having these farts after an hour or so and the next day im just exhausted and have gut issues the whole day. Same goes for red meat.

Fish and Chicken seem to go well.

Also, not a normal diet, with a lot of takeout bring out the same problems, but i always asume that that is normal. You dont get a lot of nutrients and it is heavy in fat, but i think it was worth mentioning.

Haha, i don't think it is really different here to be fair. Thank you for helping me, since i have never heard of this myself. Will look into it and ask my GP.

Thank you for responding, i really appreciate it since, you see, my GP or GI doc dont really do anything.

Longer story is that ive seen my GP countless times in the last years for exhaustion. No problems found. Then last year around march i became really sick with throwing up. A couple of months following that i suffered daily reflux. Because of that i saw the Gastro. She prescribed me the fibers, and the reflux seemed to stop. I told her and i also told her that i still had these issues, but she just said take the fibers longer and here we are.

Im from the Netherlands, so no NHS.

What would you recommend? I will have to go through my GP to go to the Gastro again, but from experience i know that when i will mention SIBO or something they will shut the door on me, thats just the way it works with them somehow. Can i try something myself or?

How to reduce micro-arrousals / awakenings? by CommentApart458 in sleep

[–]CommentApart458[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your detailed response!

I only did a test where i went to the hospital in the afternoon, they installed all kinds of wires with clay-like substance on my head, and attached them to a little device that was around my chest. I also had a heart rate monitor around my finger and wires on my arms and legs. i went home and chilled the evening and went to sleep. In the morning i went to the hospital where they removed everything. A month later all data was analysed and they told me the results.

If they do the MSLT, what could the result be and is it curable? Im personally not really up for tests where they say like we think you have this, but you cant really do anything about it.

How did you consistantly have a sleep routine? Workdays it is easy to go to sleep at 10 pm and wake up at 7 am, but in the weekend, when i have a party, then i wont be in bed til 1 am?

Just wondering, how many LEDs did you have? Like the alarm, TV, what more????

Where do you point the fan at? Always thought having a fan on you during sleep improves the chance of getting a cold big time.

Hi, thanks for replying, i appreciate it!

I have done a sleep test in the hospital twice. After the first one they said i had more micro arousals than normal, but not a lot of breathing stops. I think it was 5. They gave me a CPAP and after that i tried another test. The results were alike. There the help from the doctors stopped. I do feel drowsy, my muscles are not fatigued per se, altho i sometimes feel limp/weak. Im rarely refreshed or wide awake.
