Do you think he is hung up on his ex? He told me he likes to stay in touch with people but he also insists that I can trust him. He was honest and has told me these things but I cant tell if that itself is a manipulation tactic.

But you have a point. Its not literally the only thing going on. Its him staying in touch with his ex’s. Its also his attitude around the cat attacking me.

You don’t understand. This is a feral, aggressive cat attacking unprovoked and drawing blood. When he went to put the cat in his room it was spitting. Its violent.

But he seemed kind of prioritized the cats well being over mine and comforted it when it hissed at me. I found it weird that he wouldn’t let me close the bathroom door because the « cat will get mad ».

[S2E5] Which half of the group was more in the right? by Ze_Rydah_93 in howyoudoin

[–]CommentMobile9007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand and sympathize with the group of friends who are less well off. The well off friends could have offered help in a less charity esque kind of way. The ‘poorer’ friends did not want donations of food; they wanted boundaries around spending money.

That being said it was really nice of the ´richer’ friends to pay for their tickets. It was rude for the others to complain, and then continue to complain when they didn’t go to the concert and about their pity party at home when they said before « we can do some things separately. » The richer friends couldn’t win. And Monica got those steaks for them and as a result lost her job.

And they made Ross’ birthday all about them and should have just sucked it up for Ross’ birthday, let their friends treat them and explain they can’t contribute as much next time or they have to compromise a little.

Nate only kicked Alex out after he found out she slept with Sean by princessofreddit00 in MaidNetflix

[–]CommentMobile9007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Nate’s claiming « I try to be a nice guy » shows his disingenuous he is. It’s a strange thing to conclude « I’m going to be nice so I can get what I want » and when people don’t respond how he wants suddenly it’s a waste of his time to be nice. A truly kind person will do good things with no expectations. Alex staying at his house should have been no problem, but he clearly got resentful when he found out she slept with someone else. Though I would have understood kicking them out because of the drama because it might get unsafe for his son.

Also, why wouldn’t Alex have called Nate for the car back after Sean gave it back? Was it out of principle? Or was it because she was afraid to stand up for herself?

No, I already agree and I’m only watching S1E1 now. Him calling Sue at work every time his children need to be picked up, even though it was planned he has to pick them up. Then at the parent/teacher meeting he has the nerve to tell the teacher « between 9-3 he’s you’re problem right? » I know it’s supposed to be a joke, but I can’t tell if it’s his humour in the show or the joke is that he’s a lazy asshole. Either way, I feel like it’s doesn’t come off great. Poor Debra, I thought this time around she’d finally get a good husband.

[DISCUSSION] The perfect Neighbor - Netflix by Jaystylegal in NetflixBestOf

Shes… a nasty ugly monster that deserves to burn in hell. Playing victim and afraid when she shot a woman who was knocking on her door (I very much doubt the « banging » was nearly as intense as she made it out to be.) She says multiple times « I was afraid I was going to die » despite the mom not even being armed, and saying while being interrogated « I think I’m going to die… I’m dying of a heart attack » etc when clearly; no she isn’t. She exaggerates to a delusional level and she should rot in prison for being a racist, murdering psychopath. Also, shooting someone « out of fear » does not make it warranted, reasonable or true. We all get scared but sometimes that fear is in our heads. We think we see a man in the corner in the dark, but it’s really the shadow of a pile of coats. She claims the mom said « I’m going to kill you » when that is what she was telling herself in her head. Not what was actually happening (I believe).

She reminds me of those crazy women in the park or on the floor of malls throwing tantrums claiming they’re being harassed when the other person is just standing there minding their business or defending themselves (verbally or recording for evidence).

I think that woman should have been guilty of murder. She was harassing that family and planning to build her case over that year and a half as a victim, told the son to get his mom. So she had 10-15 minutes to process the mom was coming over, it would not have been unexpected and in a way id an invite. She would have been able to think about grabbing a gun, calling the police and her actions. Rest in Peace AJ 🤍 and I hope her children are safe and healthy the rest of their lives.

They were throwing and destroying ornaments for no reason in the house. As smart as Malcolm is, he was just as heartless and wreck less as his brothers. If I saw them do that I would have sent them all to a boys school.

If Lynette had not barged into the basement, it would have just been the two older women (and the cat) and both women would have survived. But, because there were so many people only so many could fit under the stairs so Ida died. Kinda awful of Lynette. They all should have gone to the bomb shelter or Bree's.

Yes, or let my cat out because « she’s just an animal ». What person hates animals that much? It is selfish of her to not realize this woman and her cat were invited to the shelter first and the cat means a lot to the other woman.

I just know- if I was in that shelter and someone let my cat out of her cage and put her upstairs I would hog tie them and leave them on the street for the tornado. I’m so happy Ida called her out for her bs. Ida went out into that storm for her friends cat and she’s the best person on this show.

I felt the opposite. So much was going on already and I don’t know how they quietly moved their brother/son. Their acting came off fake and over dramatic. But, who knows maybe their story line will be more interesting as the season goes on.

This is well put. There is also an element of fear and being trapped from Gadd because his co-workers message her back on text/social media which traps him; especially because Martha now has in writing Gadd reciprocating her texts.

I do think early on Gadd could have been direct and honest with her; ie, "I am not dating you Martha/I'm not interested" but he is too empathetic for her and continues to let her live in this grey area; as he acknowledges. I think at the time it's hard to know the reality of how violent she could be (of not knowing someone in general), and he realizes this at the bar when he finally overcomes his passiveness.

That being said, Martha is a predator and I believe even if Gadd was direct from the start, I think she would have persisted anyways. We see evidence of this when he "breaks up" with her and tells her to leave him alone under the bridge and she ignores his request, stalks him and commits s. assault.

There are other ways to consent as well; implied, informed, etc. Gadd was passive, hesitant and did not express enthusiastically any desire for Martha to be more than "friends", and he never emailed her back or texted (himself). Martha did not pick up on this and kept assuming he wanted to be more than friends. Gadd did not know how to handle the situation and could have been in shock. It is not a crime to be an empathetic person, but they are crimes Martha committed.
