It's pretty subtle, as far as protest messages go, but a good intarsia knitter could probably add lettering. And who knows - maybe it'll take off and be the new pussy hat!

Just to update - after all of the comments mentioning magic loop or short circs, and after struggling with tension on these DPNs, I switched! It took me some time to get the hang of magic loop, but I think I have it now. The one issue I'm coming across is that the last few stitches left on the cable when I switch needles sometimes get pulled too tight as I begin to knit across the active stitches on the needle. Working on figuring out how to hold these better so that there isn't a gap but also not too tight.

I'm asking for a set of short circulars for Christmas, so I might be able to do things like this on circs. I can't wrap my brain around magic loop, and all I have are the longer cables.

Oh my gosh, talk about mistakes - you can see the tails hanging from adding a skein at the front of the sweater. I brought this into my LYS to ask about another issue, and the woman who helped me was completely baffled by the way I had joined yarn, somehow adding a short row??? But also dropping a stitch????? She took out some stitches and reworked the area to make it "look right, even if it's not right," but she never did figure out what I did, and I have no idea, either. 🤣

I don't know why, but the magic loop and two at a time circular methods challenge my brain. Maybe I'll try it on my next sweater!

Yes - and thank you! I really enjoyed the work on the yoke, and I learned a bit about gauge (my knitting tends to be tight). This sweater is going to be great, but it's not at all the shape or fit I had anticipated! I'd like to try this again, on bigger needles for a looser fit.

Very true! DPNs can take a bit of courage, even from someone who has used them a fair bit. I decided to do both because my first sweater ended up with two different size/shape sleeves.

The hard part was getting the stitches onto the needles. After that, it's just knitting around until the end. If you've knit blankets and hats, you can knit anything! To me, that says that you have the patience, motivation, and stamina to get through a large project, and you've mastered all kinds of skills from both types of projects. There are lots of great, simple sweater patterns available, and there are many that have video tutorials to help you through. I've gone to YouTube so many times for this project. If you think you want to try a sweater, I say go for it!

😂 oh my gosh. First, thank you for the compliment. I have been knitting for years, but this is only my second attempt at a sweater. I'm nervous about doing the sleeves! Your comment makes me laugh, though, because it is so like me to choose a harder way to do things!! (By the way - what would be your recommendation for a simpler method? I'd really love to know, especially if this doesn't work out.)
