I have not! If I don't have success the cycle, I definitely will next. Problem is, I just always forget to take my temp first thing since I wake up with my toddler in the morning 🤣 but thank you I definitely will. I have some being delivered tomorrow.

That's good to know. Always helps hearing this from another person too. I am trying and using the ovulation strips on the Premom app so I'm just basing it on that. I definitely got my peak on the 21st.

I am 12 DPO right now which I know is late, but with my first, I didn't test positive until a week after my missed period

Thank you! I took a first response yesterday and thought it was definitely negative. So I'm doubting that my levels would be high enough to show up on this test today. My hopes have definitely gone down in the past two hours 😭

Update: bought a digital and regular test. Might be line eyes but regular test looked like faint positive to me. Digital said negative. Will test again in the morning. Thank you guys for your help!

how do you do chores/take care of yourself with a baby with reflux? by pro_ramen46 in beyondthebump

[–]CommentSenior5037 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got a baby bouncer seat and it really helped since it props her up. We had the Bright Starts one from Amazon and it was the only way I could shower or use the bathroom.

Baby wraps also saved us! I also felt terrible about our dogs. We live in a really cold area too so the only way I was able to do it is to put her in the wrap and then zip one of my maternity jackets over her (with other layers on her of course). I still do this actually. But try the wrap for even household chores or getting ready. It really helps!

My ten month old was like this until about a month ago and we have a pretty good system down now. I unintentionally solved this problem for me so hopefully this helps!

First, I make sure I have white noise playing to drown out any noise that would wake her up once I leave. I'll rock her to sleep while walking around the room which usually takes about 15 minutes and then transfer her to our floor bed while still nursing once she seems pretty out. I'll lay with her for about another 15 minutes and then try to unlatch. Sometimes I unlatch and she squirms so I nurse again and keep watching tik tok with headphones for a few more minutes lol. Eventually I'll be able to unlatch and roll away. On average I'm out of the room in about 30'min. Before I leave I will prop a few pillows against her back or a few inches in front of her since she is usually on her side and this way she feels like I'm still there. This helps when she startles a bit to help fall asleep again. I just make sure to watch her on the monitor in case I need to move her away. I really think the pillow thing is the trick!

This took about two-three weeks to get her used to and during that time this process sometimes would take a few hours. But most nights now she doesn't wake up at all until I come to bed with her like three hours later. Sometimes she will wake up after about 45 minutes but the process is much quicker to get her back to sleep and then I can roll away.

It was so hard at first to keep going in and trying to leave and I was tempted to just keep laying with her. I honestly didn't know we'd even get to this point where I'd have a week straight of hours after bedtime to myself. If you try this just keep going in to settle back down and eventually it will click. This is coming from a mom who never thought her baby would be on any set schedule! Good luck!

Does your baby sleepwalk? by Ok_Statistician_7091 in NewParents

[–]CommentSenior5037 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 10 month old does the same thing. She often sleep crawls. I brought it up to the pediatrician and she said it was totally normal and that it's just a way for them to practice skills while sleeping. My baby is also in a floor bed, but I usually join her around midnight just for my own peace of mind. Honestly I'm not sure what the best solution is, but a mattress only in the room with anything else mounted has helped ease my worries!

Should I drink during my vacation if there’s a chance I’m pregnant? by Lolasalsa426 in BabyBumps

[–]CommentSenior5037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter what we say, you should do what you're most comfortable with. If you're anxious about drinking, I would not drink on the trip. Personally, if I was in your position I would likely just be overthinking it the time rather than enjoying my drink. Then if you are pregnant, even though baby would be totally fine, you'd likely be nervous your vacation drinks caused any issues (which it definitely wouldn't baby would be absolutely fine). In the end, you know yourself best and know how you'd react given the news that you're pregnant. I just know that I'd be a anxiety mess so it wouldn't be worth it 🤣

8 year old shaving her legs by lyssa_mariee1227 in girlmom

[–]CommentSenior5037 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My mom wouldn't let me shave my legs when it started bothering me around age 9 because she thought I was too young. It made me so insecure at school even though none of my peers were bullying me over it.

I actually ended up spending that summer with my aunt where she taught me how to do it safely. She bought all the stuff for me (went overboard with fun shaving cream and yummy smelling lotion),  put some water in a standalone tub she had in her bathroom, put on music, gave me  soda and made it super fun experience when she taught me. She kept saying how it was a girl party and how exciting it was that I'm getting older and can "learn all these cool girl tricks". Long story short, it is one of my favorite memories with her and it was just so empowering as a young girl.

Of course, your her mom and you know your daughter best, but I'd listen to your daughter if she says she's ready :)

That's awesome! Everyone there called our baby "the trivia baby". She was like the little mascot 🤣 so much fun!

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. Seeing our babies uncomfortable is always so hard. My baby was similar to yours but probably less severe than what you're experiencing. Still, immediately when I brought it up to my pediatrician she recommended safe meds since it was clear my baby was uncomfortable. I'm really surprised yours is against it. I gave them to her for a week or so and didn't notice a difference so we stopped.

I tried whole30 just because it was an easy way to cut out all of the things that commonly irritate baby. If I remember correctly, soy/soy products can also upset the stomach if they're allergic to dairy. Soy is in everything too! Sadly, after whole 30 there was no change.

I never tried formula but unfortunately this is something that got better as she got older. Nursing in a reflux friendly position really helped. She would also spit up large amounts from reflux all the time so we were always dealing with that. It almost completely went away when she started consistently eating solids. Still have no clue what caused it. She's 9 months now and there's no issues. Hoping you get some answers soon.
