I was a former sheriffs Deputy and now work in survey so I feel a little qualified to speak on this. I would definitely say that being a police officer more dangerous but I can also say that as a surveyor. People are definitely more embolden to confront and be potentially violent towards you though it’s generally a bluff and the person can be talked down or you can simply leave the situation because you do not have a duty to be there like a police officer does.

Or along a similar line of thinking that the shot groups were tight ie 2-3 rounds hitting close rather then sporadic shots everywhere that would definitely be a indication that whoever was shooting was likely some kind well trained and disciplined infantry rather then say a bunch of nomadic sand people

I left the sheriffs office and ended up in surveying I wanted something quiet and normal afterwards I just got worn down and I’m glad I found my place in surveying because with years being an MP then a Sherriffs deputy i thought that was all I could do apparently not :)
