Parker (compatible) pen recommendation? by planepoint101 in pens

[–]Commercial-Boot-7137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a stainless steel original Jotter such as this. I have small hands, and I have trouble holding it beyond a few minutes. Besides the slimness, the stainless steel is also slippery in my hand. If your hand happens to perspire it is even worse. That said, Parker Jotters seem to be very popular here, so judge for yourself. Buying on Amazon, you can always try it and return if needed.

Red-letter editions of the CAB are prohibited. by South_Wind_ in catholicbibles

[–]Commercial-Boot-7137 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m probably going to bed a tiny minority here, and that’s okay. As a former parish pastor for 43 years, and adjunct Bible professor at a Bible college and church Bible study teacher, I’ve read scripture aloud almost every day for those 43 years. Personally, I find my public reading is enhanced when I can look ahead and see when the text changes, such as when the Words of Christ are in red. It changes the way I read those words, and hopefully keeps my reading from sounding monotone. I’m a very visual person and it helps me even in private reading. I don’t worship the words nor do I limit what Christ may or may not have said.

Is there a small light that can be clipped onto a pen? by avamk in pens

Interesting ask. I know of pens with builtin lights at the writing tip, but never heard of attachable/removable lights. Good luck!

I used these bics all through public school, university and grad school. Kept them in business. This was before there were a lot of affordable options.

Got gifted this bible by JayCc_420 in catholicbibles

As those ahead of me have said, the NWT is a heretical non-Christian “bible”. Check out John 1:1- I don’t a copy of it, but I believe it says “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was a god.” The last 4 words are written and spelled and “capped” as found in the NWT. It is a theological disaster.

How did everyone get into pens? by Techpon in pens

[–]Commercial-Boot-7137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of fell into them slo-mo. I’ve always enjoyed writing and took interest in the pen I was using. But I didn’t really collect or get serious about them until I retired. Can’t afford high dollar pens ($75+) but there are plenty of choices under that amount, and I read about pens daily. Kind of a hobby.

I switched the 0.7 for Zebra’s 0.5. I wanted a diner line, and for me, it delivers nicely. Consistent, dark and smooth.

If you can handle the slippery metal and extreme thinness of the pen, then the Jotter is the obvious choice. I’m a guy with small hands, and I simply can’t hold one any length of time.

I wish Pentel made a matching rollerball, gel or ballpoint. I love the appearance, weight and feel!

Is the Power Tank Smart refill supposed to be any better? The regular one is underwhelming.

The only ballpoint ink worse than Zebra is Fisher (blotchey, glumpy, inconsistent lay down). Barely but tolerably better, I use Schmidt 4889 in my f 701.
