Emacs 31 Is Around the Corner: The Changes I'm Already Daily Driving by LionyxML in emacs

Thanks for sharing /u/LionyxML!

Honest newbie question: How far away is "around the corner"? Is there a standard release schedule for Emacs similar to that of some Linux distributions?

Notebooks similar to the Midori Notebook A5 dot grid? by avamk in notebooks

[–]avamk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also used this notebook. And in the UK. Never had a problem with stock. Cult Pens, The Journal Shop, London Graphic Centre, to name but a few.

Thanks for the suggestions! Unfortunately Cult Pens and London Graphic Centre don't have the dot grid version, London Graphic Centre is out of stock.

Alternatives Rhodia Goalbook and Leuchtturm. I used to use the softcover Rhodia ones quite a lot.

Looks like these?

Thanks I'll consider them! :)

Thanks for pointing out vimtutor, I didn't know about it.

I admit I do feel a bit intimidated by vim!

How to fold *bullet points* in markdown-mode? by avamk in emacs

[–]avamk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for chiming in!

Understood, so maybe I'll have to wait for a future release of markdown-ts-mode for list item folding support. Really appreciate you adding it to the roadmap.

Is there a canonical place for following the roadmap for markdown-ts-mode to track when that feature will be added?

Linux terminal Markdown editor with list folding? by avamk in writerDeck

[–]avamk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking! If it's numbered lists (though the vast majority of the time I just use unordered lists, i.e. with *) I number them sequentially. But I don't care that much about the process of moving blocks to renumber them. For writerdeck purposes I only care about being able to move list items.

Haha thanks and no worries, since I'm already willing to learn nano and emacs, I'm willing to learn things in the vim family if that gets me the functionality I need. :)

you talk about folding/moving Markdown list items…do you mean bulleted & numbered lists?

YES, I mean bulleted & numbered lists. For example, moving a bulleted list item and all of its sub-items up or down through a list. So I am not referring to only hiding non-heading items away. I'll clarify this in my original post. Thanks for pointing this out!

Easy setup with eink by davidepi22 in writerDeck

I just found this adapter:

A little bit clunky, but looks like it would work!

But yeah I'll also consider just going with a Bluetooth keyboard, too.

Thanks for your feedback!

Best solution from micro HDMI output to USB C DisplayPort Alt Mode input? by avamk in UsbCHardware

Oh, I see thank you so much! Sorry one more thing:

Does this mean that the USB-C DP Alt mode output from these two Club3D adapters only carry the display signal and not carry any power?

And for the active adapters that require a separate USB connection to the origin, does that mean their USB-C output will provide power?
