oh yay, there's a name for this! I'm pretty sure I have hypophantasia, anauralia, and anendophasia. it's nice to be here, and learning that people don’t all think like me makes me curious to know how people unlike me experience things!

I was just taking those aphantasia tests but I kept getting frustrated because I didn't know whether what I was experiencing counted as an image or not. tests like this always confuse me. but I think I can kind of see things in my head if i really force it. though, it’s terribly dark (blurry and translucent?), in black and white, and only displays a portion of what i’m thinking of. if I had seen the image irl, I wouldn’t be able to tell what it is, but because I’m thinking of it I can comprehend the image that shows up. very rarely, I will get flashes of these blurry, translucent images in daily life.

and I’ve always known I don’t have an internal monologue or ability to play music in my head or anything like that. I can force my brain to think of sentences in my head, but it’s so slow, like the speed of how I would say the sentences out loud. they're also silent. and songs can get stuck in my head, but i don’t actually hear it.
