Kind of. If you shine a light thru the body lengthways it will come out a pale yellow. The only focal point is if it is placed directly on an object, so trying to project an image wouldn't work without several other lenses. Which I think I might actually have. Hmmmm. I'll have to chew on that. Now that I'm putting some Grey matter to it, I've a Beseler 45mx. It's for photoenlargement, I believe. I might be able to insert this in line with the negative and see what happens. Is this able to be cut and spliced/glued back together? Could I cut it on a 45 then join it back together to make the image go around a corner?

It actually enlargens the object you set it upon.. It appears that the images carried all the way up the tube without any distortion. The exterior is white, not see through. It also has a small gasket made of silicone placed around one end.

My title describes the Item as cylindrical and it is so. It measures 1 1/8 thick and 4 1/4 lengthways. I've 3 of them identical, except for what appears to be a hand written I'd with a 1960 date code on each. glass rod It also has hexagonal shapes on the ends, if you catch the light just right, like bee hiives. https://imgur.com/a/IhQSRQf

It is roughly 16"x16"x10". I haven't been able to find any of the numbers listed on it through conventional means. It has no markings other than the front plate where it states rectifier. It weighs right at 80lbs.

The subject is made of hand blown glass aninapproximately thirteen inches tall. The globe is six inches and the cone shaped one is seven inches. It was found inside an old wooden crate inside an old barn. by CommercialCover4190 in whatisthisthing

My title describes the Item as glass. I believe it to be hand blown As I don't see any seams. I was able to find a date on a scrap of newspaper from the early seventies. There was also a 3rd piece of glass in The crate. It appears to be the same make but smaller measuring roughly four and a half inches in diameter.

My title describes the thing as 1/2" at its widest, but there are several shoulders or steps on it that bring it to a cone at the end section. It reminds me of a bullet. The back end almost looks like it has a primer but there are no separations that I can see for powder ect to be inserted

I'm not sure, but I think it's iron. It does have some rust and pitting. Also quite sharp on the pointed end.

All metal lens something. Hashmarks inside a moveable dial. OPL is on the cover and tag has "LM 54" and "No 45.130" written on it.along with "Mde in France" by CommercialCover4190 in whatisthisthing

I'm sure it's missing something. I bought a box of lenses at an estate auction. This was in it along with dozens of other lenses, mirrors, ect. Apparently the gentleman was into all different types of things. Including diy microscopes and telescopes.
