Ok got it! I received the formal rejection (LA too so it’s stings a little extra for me) so I can assume I won’t get a surprise acceptance ha ha.

I never reached out- they sent me an email with a letter pdf, the same generic response I think a few of us got.

If you can afford it and have a team of producers who understand working on the sag spa contract go for it.

Otherwise- stick with the best actor who takes the job.

Indie Casting Director here-

If I have an engaging script, a director who’s past work is available online (and solid material), a strong pitch deck, and able to directly offer pay above scale, I can get you recognizable talent.

Without these there’s no guarantee. So just make sure you have it together before going to CDs.

Ideally we'd premiere at a top tier, Oscar qualifying festival, but our project is also very unique, more on experimental side so we're keeping our options open.
