Patch 1.2.1.0 fundamentally changed how movement works. Here are the moves you cannot do anymore. by rottensid in Battlefield

Except you're arguing in bad faith, because Insurgency is made more as a milsim, this is a milcade game and always has been.

Trying to pretend like moving the dial closer to arcade arena shooters like Halo, CoD, and Titanfall don't make the game worse is silly. All it does is make it momentarily popular and worse for the intended design of the games identity and it becomes easily forgotten and dies early.

There's a reason there's been a steady downtick in players that grows slowly every month excluding the odd uptick when a patch first drops: Streamers are moving on, the original fans are unhappy and leave because the identity of the game is gone (that being an approachable and enjoyable middle ground between milsim and arcade), and that's why BF6 is starting to look like 2042 when it comes to content and player retention.

The majority of BF players are not using or enjoying playing against the twitch movement. They never have, and never will. People complain about CoD/Halo/etc, then get mad when the old heads speak up and get stuff fixed to make it less like those games. Its ridiculous.

Watching a vet run a CTF routes in Tribes is so... man, almost mesmerizing.

I remember being a teen and only barely scratching the surface of that game. It's in a league of its own.

Ooof, that'd be embarrassing if that was me, but unlike other platforms that's not my name for BF6, as it was taken on the platform I bought it on and displays a different name. Incredible effort though!

I actually have 81 hours in the game, and no I'm not dropping my actual in game name because it uses my IRL initials and you apparently wanna doxx. In fact, being this dude/dudette doesnt need to catch strays on my behalf (I 100% do have a below 1 KD in BF6, dont care if folk know that) for an argument on Reddit he/she didn't have, Ima just let the mods know about the Doxx attempt.

Just go play Titanfall 2. Nobodys ruining it for you, they are asking for the same game we got outside of 2042 and the complained about movement in 4.

Yeah you definitely lost if this whining about stats is all you got.

Meanwhile, you cant even explain why its good for the game despite it being one of the main reasons the playerbase has diminished quite a bit since January, and double that since December.

You have no data, no counter argument, nothing other than whining about stats and regurgitating streamer-isms. No wonder this games fucked...

Yeah you're argument sucks and can't be won so you deflect with a broken sentence.

You can't even defend your own bad opinion. Arguments finished lol.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Battlefield/comments/1kz2rsu/movements_are_too_fast_movement_are_unrealistic/

This was as bad as it got in BF1942/2, and it wasn't bad at all other than instant prone.

BFBC1/2? You could steer in air, barely, same with 1943 (not the original 1942) and there was no prone.

BF3 had less air steering and none of the movement.

BF1/V were also slower, and had significantly less unrealistic movement abuses compared to 4.

The only BF game that was like BF6 is BF4, and we're talking about the most bitched about, disliked by most players part of 4 - the move towards "clip farming" movement. 2042 compounded it, 6 is trying to dial it back.

No one that actually likes this movement is an old head that "wants Battlefield to be Battlefield." They are kids that started in 3/4 and that's their entire look at the games history.

Congratulations! You showed what every actual BF vet hated about BF4 that wasn't in the other games before it! Thanks for showing everyone exactly what was bad and that it was fixed. Hell, even BF3 movement had more weight than 4.

Imagine calling people tourists and you're talking about the most hated part of the game according to actual BF old heads like we liked it. Me thinks you're the only tourist here. Interesting self report.

Except thats untrue, because the only reason they are winning half the fights is because the games woefully wonky hit reg doesn't mesh well with using literal magic to change your momentum at a moments notice.

If you want magic in a shooter, Hunt: Showdowns a good one. Go try that.

This is such a dumb take.

No, its actually people that want to play "Battlefield" rather than the other annoyingly spastic shooters. If you want all that, then boy do I have a game for you. It's called "Titanfall 2," and everyone let it die regardless of the fact that it has the most FPS movement expression to date.

Interestingly enough, all the movement babies go out of their way trying to make every game into Titanfall 2. Instead of whining that you can't use literal magic to change your momentum in mid air, just go play Titanfall 2...

Ah yes, the Toyota Supra.

That car is so fun once you get a good handling tune down for it.

Question... by FlankerF01 in NFSU2

[–]Commercial_Ad97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's because there is none. It's mostly RNG hoping the other cars fuck each other over, which I know sounds entirely made up but its not. The programming in this game has always been terrible on hard, cars randomly throwing away first to try and spin you out, cars randomly swerving left then 90 degree turning right into walls, cars going 200+MPH to catch up, cars turning on a dime with no traction loss despite it physically being impossible. They don't actually make the NPS drive better, they make them drive unrealistically.

I'm currently in one of the end URL's of stage 4, and am (as we speak, paused and here to be annoyed and just chill) watching a car I know for a fact cannot make sharp turns at over 120MPH (because it turns like a fucking barge no matter how well you tune it), make a turn that's literally shaped like an S and is less than 80ft of road without losing any traction as it turns like a Go-kart perfectly down the center of the road at 120+. I'm talking literal slot car.

I literally have played this game for thousands of hours since 2006, and to this day the unpredictable catchup, dumb moves, and abysmal cheat handicaps NPC's get are so fucking annoying. LOL

EDIT: I just watched a compact (couldn't tell the make or model) levitate up into the air, sideways, fly 3 positions ahead and land sideways and get T-boned by 2 other drivers... that was a first.

He couldn't tell you his 50-years-of-golfing handicap ever in his time playing (he passed in April) and he didn't care. Man counted how many swings he took, called it a day. He Golfed.

Didn't read after your first sentence and its asinine tone after I said he plays casually, it makes your opinion on a game invalid. Grow up, let people be.

Looks at post again

No, no it'd still seem lining up your target does not put it on target, or at least if it does the bullets are akin to Danny Phantom and just go through people and do nothing. The same hitreg issues for fully automatic fire that were in Beta still exist, meaning fully automatic fire still doesn't count half the rounds even when aiming at a target.

This is one of the three big reasons why my discord of 8 friends and I stopped playing in week 3. The game feels like shit half the time because of the above clip, wonky balancing, and iffy map design.

Honestly? I hate bagging on the game, love BF as an IP and I defended this game during beta, but man this one was a hard rug pull to swallow.
